Justice Tufte is grateful to receive Kent Reierson's endorsement, who is a former attorney at Crowley Fleck, Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and resides in Williston.
"I heartily endorse Justice Tufte for reelection as a North Dakota Supreme Court Justice. I actively practiced for 45 years in North Dakota. I had an opportunity to clerk for the North Dakota Supreme Court after I graduated from the University of North Dakota Law school. During my years of practice, I was honored to have been able to appear before the North Dakota Supreme Court numerous times. I have also served on several North Dakota Bar Association committees with Justices of the North Dakota Supreme Court including Justice Tufte. In my appearances before Justice Tufte, he has been prepared and had relevant and insightful questions. His written opinions follow the law and provide fact based reasoning for the result.
I worked with Justice Tufte on the Judicial nominating committee in which we reviewed applicants for open judicial positions in North Dakota including the District Courts as well as the North Dakota Supreme Court. I was always impressed with the work Justice Tufte would put in on following up with references provided by the candidate as well as with other members of the bar and community in the home area of the candidate. He had useful information and detailed notes of his conversations with those folks regarding the candidate. In interviews he was very engaging with the candidates and always respectful.
In personal interactions with Justice Tufte, he is engaging and easy to speak with about work, family, and random everyday topics. He is intelligent, studious, hardworking, and down to earth. These traits and his past performance and experience make Justice Tufte the most qualified person for the position on the North Dakota Supreme Court. I can strongly recommend Justice Tufte for reelection as a North Dakota Supreme Court Justice."
