Have any TIPs? Public comment is open for the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The draft of the 2027-2030 Central Dakota MPO Transportation Improvement Program is here:

https://www.minotnd.gov/DocumentCenter/View/10585/DRAFT-CDMPO-2027-2030-Transportation-Improvement-Program

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a detailed list of regionally significant, federally funded transportation projects within the Cities of Burlington, Minot, and Surrey, as well as Ward County and Minot City Transit. The TIP covers a period of at least four years and includes capital and non-capital surface transportation projects, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit facilities, and other transportation enhancements and safety projects.

The TIP is updated annually. Each year, the TIP development process includes the solicitation of eligible projects for inclusion from all jurisdictions and transit agencies within the Central Dakota MPO planning area, an analysis of fiscal capacity, and feedback from MPO committees.

City Manager Tom Joyce will be a panelist at the next International City/County Manager Association conference. Some of his ideas are outlined in the ICMA Member Spotlight this month:

For Joyce, the session is another opportunity to “pay it forward” and help local government leaders recognize the value veterans can bring to their organizations. “Military veterans offer some common traits and values—such as selfless service, duty, responsibility and trust—but also functional skills that can transition well into local government operations.”
