Sponsored by the Minot Police Department and Ward County Sheriff Department, Minot Regional Law Enforcement Cadets were the first Public Safety Cadet Unit in North Dakota. Minot Regional Law Enforcement Cadets partner with regional high school and college students to educate them about the field of Law Enforcement. Minot Regional Law Enforcement Cadets focus on learning skills related to the Law Enforcement career while also developing leadership and teamwork qualities. The Minot Regional Law Enforcement Cadets program promotes community service and community involvement by assisting with local events throughout the year. Students who participate in the Minot Regional Law Enforcement Cadets program should have an interest and ability to pursue a Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement career. Regularly scheduled meetings are held bi-monthly on Sunday evenings at the Minot Police Department from 6 PM to 830 PM. Other meetings and activities are planned throughout the school year and take place at different facilities around the city. Cadets are encouraged and requested to attend as many meetings and community events as possible. Meeting dates are typically set several months ahead of time to help plan though busy life schedules.
