Spring street sweeping has begun! For the next few weeks, crews clean about 1,000 miles of city streets. Temporary hot pink “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 24 hours in advance so streets will be clear of cars—any remaining cars may be ticketed and towed. See the street sweeping map/timeline at the link:

We sweep all the streets from curb to curb every spring and fall. Avoid a ticket or tow by knowing the rules.

🌞🌝 Thank you to everyone who attended our 2026 Lake of the Isles Winter Party! We had a great turnout from lakeside and broader Twin Cities residents, who enjoyed open skating, hockey, sweet treats, giant puppets and good cheer.

Thank you to those who donated to our last-minute food drive! Together we collected $250+ and 36 bags of supplies, all donated to Joyce Uptown Foodshelf.

Special thanks to event planners and volunteers from East Isles Neighborhood Association, Cedar Isles Dean Neighborhood Association, East Bde Maka Ska Neighborhood Association, Kenwood Neighborhood Organization, Lowry Hill Neighborhood Association, and West Maka Ska Neighborhood Council - WMSNC.

Extra special thanks to Courtney Cushing Kiernat for event photography, Isles Bun & Coffee, Kowalski's Uptown Market, and Lunds & Byerlys Uptown Minneapolis for their delicious donations, and to In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre for their festive puppeteers!

And extra-EXTRA special thanks to the weather—for gifting us an afternoon of fun in the sun! 😎

Feeling hopeless? Check out a shortlist of actions you can take in response to ICE activities in the area. Do what you have capacity and resources to do. Every single bit helps, and ongoing support after these events leave the news cycle is always needed.

We've learned that the new majority of the Park Board is planning to reopen the issue of closing The Mall roads at their meeting this Wednesday, despite active opposition by residents, including a petition signed by 780+ neighbors. Several East Isles board members are planning to be there to testify and it would be great to have lots of feedback there, if possible.

"Join us as we line Lyndale Ave to form a TUNNEL OF LOVE. Standing together in grief, standing together in love. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 5:30–6:30 PM, starting at Washburn Library and heading north. Wear blue and green and bring signs to spread the love (encouraged but not required!)

The gathering was organized by community members seeking to stand in solidarity with Annunciation and to spread love and peace throughout the neighborhood. These gatherings have been happening weekly, and are a restorative space to grieve in community and connect with others who are also hurting and caring deeply about these issues."

Another Neighborhood Super Sale has wrapped 🎉 MANY THANKS to everyone who helped make the 2025 Neighborhood Super Sale our biggest yet!

Thanks to the hundreds and hundreds of thrifters who turned up to hunt treasures, to the 140 sellers for participating, and to the six neighborhood associations, whose staff and volunteers collaborated to make it all happen: East Isles, Lowry Hill, East Bde Maka Ska, Kenwood, Cedar-Isles-Dean, and The Wedge (Lowry Hill East).

Extra special thanks to DAV Department of Minnesota, who facilitated pick-up of most of the unsold items for charity donation.

We hope to see you all again in September 2026 — sellers, it’s never too soon to start stocking up! 😉
