Willibald Charles Bianchi[1] (March 12, 1915 – January 9, 1945) was a United States Army officer serving with the Philippine Scouts who received the Medal of Honor during World War II for his actions near Bagac, Philippines, during the Battle of Bataan in 1942. Bianchi is one of three members of the Philippine Scouts who were awarded the Medal of Honor. Bianchi was later among the troops captured by the Japanese at the fall of Bataan, on April 9, 1942. He was killed in action in January 1945, but his remains were unable to be positively identified until 2025.

We will be honoring the Marines From Minnesota who paid the ultimate sacrifice When the Marine Corps barracks Beirut Lebanon was bombed in 1983. We will ne having a formal ceremony with honor guard on October 23rd. At the graves of the Marines for Minnesota.
Time- Arrive at 4:30 PM
Date October 23rd
Place Northwest corner of Fourt Snelling National Cemetery.

Today, on Gold Star Mothers’ and Families' Day, we honor a sacrifice unlike any other.

The loss of a service member leaves an irreplaceable void, not only in our ranks, but in the lives of their loved ones. We stand with the families of our fallen, recognizing their enduring strength, the resilience they demonstrate in the face of unimaginable grief, and vowing to never forget the heroes they loved and the ultimate price they paid for our freedom.

Their memory lives on, inspiring us to uphold the values they stood for.

On September 28th, we honor Gold Star Mothers and Families who have lost loved ones in military service. The Gold Star represents the profound sacrifice of both service members and their families. Today and every day, we recognize that no one has given more for our nation than these service members and families.

The Army supports these families through Survivor Outreach Services, providing counseling, financial assistance, and continued connection to the military community.
