All DAP communications are driven by our values and mission. DAP seeks to engage with our community by sharing credible and timely information that:
• Educates and promotes awareness of issues relating to our mission
• Validates the experiences of survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence
• Shares information about our organization and partner organizations

DAP's social media pages are mon

itored during regular business hours and are not monitored by advocates. If you need immediate assistance or to speak with an advocate, you can:
• Call our First Call Line at612-874-7063 x232
• Email us at [email protected]

We encourage healthy and respectful dialogue in this space. While this is a public forum, it is a platform that DAP created and is responsible for. In order to maintain a healthy and supportive space for all (survivors, family members, our community, employees, volunteers, etc.) we reserve the right to remove comments or ban individuals from our platforms. We encourage dialogue that:
• Speaks from personal experiences or perspectives. Directly calling out or naming individuals or groups without their consent in a potentially harmful way will not be tolerated.
• Is respectful of all individuals and groups. Discriminatory or hateful comments regarding race, gender, ethnicity, religion, gender, ability, sexuality, or comments that violate DAP's values will not be tolerated.
• Keeps discussions generative, helpful, and informative. Repeated and deliberately disruptive statements meant to hijack comment threads, intimidate others, or derail conversations will not be tolerated. DAP is committed to our own growth and accountability as an agency and appreciates both positive and constructive feedback, as long as communication is in line with our guidelines. We are limited in our capacity to address grievances through social media platforms and encourage individuals with a formal grievance to contact our Executive Director.

Climate change is not just an environmental crisis. It is a public health and safety issue. Extreme heat, economic instability, and disaster displacement all act as threat multipliers, intensifying the risk factors for domestic and intimate partner violence. Heatwaves mean less sleep and more aggression. Floods and fires cut survivors off from support systems. And financial stress from climate impacts fuels coercive control. Those already most vulnerable women, low-income communities and marginalized populations, face the highest compounding risks. Addressing domestic violence means addressing the conditions that fuel it.

If you’d like support with safety planning this summer, our team is here to help.
