GAP School staff, Regina Edmisten and Dave Pearson, were in Texas earlier this month to convene with other YouthBuild programs that are a part of the Department of Labor ETA Growth Opportunities grant. This grant helps support our YouthBuild program at GAP School and focuses on vital work with justice-impacted young people!

Over the course of 2 days, they dove into critical topics, including:

* Leveraging data to tell our impact story and strengthening intensive case management

*Adolescent brain development, behavior, and the connection to justice involvement

*Working with employers to advance equitable, second-chance hiring strategies

*Implementing meaningful restorative justice practices

Another school year has come to a close and Change Inc. held our annual staff picnic last week to celebrate! Thank you to each and every one of our staff for their work over this incredibly challenging school year. Exciting News! Change Inc. is happy to announce that it is merging with Minneapolis-based nonprofit Watercourse Counseling Center, a provider of therapy services to adults, children, and adolescents in clinic and Minneapolis schools. Effective July 1, 2026, Watercourse will join Change Inc.’s Community & School Collaborative program with a unified focus on clinical, school-based, and related therapies and services.

Yesterday, YouthBuild program directors from across the advocated for young people at the 2026 Capitol Hill Day.

leaders are driving powerful change, and the momentum we've built extends well beyond YBDA. Together, we're championing young people to build the futures they deserve!
