We at La Oportunidad appreciate your patience as we continue to adapt to the statewide closures: governor’s shelter-in-place executive order (extended until May 4) and schools’ closure until May 4 due to COVID-19. Due to these closures, we have extended our office closure until May 4 and will continue to work remotely. We have also taken the decision to postpone our Latinx Youth Leadership Conference (originally scheduled for May 8) to a currently undetermined date in the fall of this year. We will offer our LEAP (domestic violence) classes virtually (via Zoom). For our LEAP program/classes, please contact Teo Nunez at [email protected], for our conference please contact Caroline Stevens at [email protected] and for anything else please contact our Executive Director Eloisa Echavez at [email protected].

Thank you and stay healthy!

"The best part of being the LYLC coordinator is seeing our young people grow and see them become stronger leaders and role models in our Hispanic communities. Erik Garcia and Kaily Ceballos joined the Conference planning committee as high school students, and now that they are in college they have become mentors to the younger members. They push others to continue growing and bring a lot of knowledge to the planning of this event." -Adrian (the coordinator)

Kaily Ceballos is currently a student at Augsburg University and is studying education.🎓🔥

Erik Garcia is currently a student at Minneapolis College and is studying community development.✊🏿🔥
