Minneapolis is a Union Town – always has been, always will be.
And I am proud to be your only Labor-Endorsed candidate in this race for Senate District 62.
I am truly humbled to have received the endorsement and support of the hundreds of thousands of rank-and-file members who make up these powerhouse labor unions: , , , , , and Inter Faculty Organization.
Their membership keeps our great state running – from our hospitals and classrooms, on our roads, workplaces, factories – and everywhere in between.
Workers in Minnesota can count on me to be a pro-worker voice in at our Capitol, and a fierce ally for organized labor. In the State Senate, I have worked tirelessly alongside the labor movement to champion efforts to balance the uneven power dynamic between employers and employees.
Together we fought hard to secure and pass the strongest guaranteed minimum wage and worker protections for Uber and Lyft drivers in the country — right here in Minnesota. We also restored the right to join a union for over 23,000 University of Minnesota workers.
While the federal government is being run by billionaires, and the vast majority of us are living paycheck to paycheck. We need our elected leaders to stand with working people: the folks who are the backbone of our local economy, go to work everyday to provide for ourselves and our families, and create all the goods and services we rely on.
