MIRAC encourages people who attend a precinct caucus on Feb. 6 (for whatever political party) to bring copies of this resolution: 'Make Minnesota a Sanctuary State'. MIRAC doesn’t endorse political parties or candidates. But we think bringing this resolution to the caucus of your party of preference can be a good way to raise awareness and support for defending our immigrant neighbors. At the link get a copy of the resolution and instructions for bringing it to your precinct caucus.

On February 6, 2018 Minnesotans will participate in precinct caucuses. Aside from picking a political party’s candidates for upcoming elections, at caucuses you can bring resolutions about po…

ALERT! Please donate to help get Luis out of ICE custody. As it says on the GoFundMe: "For those of you who know Luis, you know that he is an activist at heart. He cares for and fights for the rights of our communities! In the past few years he's been involved with (Mirac) Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee working to stop deportations. We need Luis out of detention and back home with his family. We need Luis back home where he belongs. Please help us. Anything is appreciated."

My name is Sandra Gonzaga Perez, I am the wife of Luis Candela. On Wednesday January 17, 2018 around 4pm. Luis was torn away from our family. Luis is a loving father of tree daughters, a good husband, friend, community activist and productive member of our society. On Wednesday, he was follo...

"My father-in-law has been detained by immigration, they posted a bail of $13,000. Unfortunately, our family does not count with the money as this moment and we are asking for everyones help. Anything you are able to help us with would be greatly appreciate it.
His life is here in the United States. His wife, four kids and three gransons all live here. They are all afraid that their dad/grandpa would be deported if we are not able to get him out on bail.
My mother-in-law is doing whatever possible to raise funds together with her kids but as of this moment it’s seems almost impossible to raise such an amount. We ask that all of you put yourself and in our situation and helps us by either donation or spreading the word. Once again, anything helps.
Thank you and may God bless you all."

More than 50 people today said NO to Trump, Arpaio, racism and deportations at the MIRAC table at Open Streets Franklin Ave!

We say no to racism & deportations! Photos taken at the MIRAC table at Open Streets Minneapolis on Franklin Avenue, August 27, 2017. This is our response to Trump's pardon of Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio, notorious anti-immigrant sheriff convicted of racially profiling against Latinos who Trump inexcusably pardoned this week.

"I'm so thankful to finally be home with my wife and kids," said Sameth. "There were many times this past year that I almost lost hope. But while in detention, I saw the unconditional love and support my family and my community continued to give to me."

Sameth was issued deportation relief by an immigration judge last week, but remained in detention after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) expressed their intent to file an appeal. With the help of passionate advocates and skilled attorneys who challenged his prolonged detention, he was relea...

Action alert from Saint Paul Federation of Teachers:

Rudy Lopez Vasquez is the parent of a student at Maxfield Elementary, here is Saint Paul. He was picked up by Immigration and Customs Enforcement earlier this year for a traffic ticket and detained because of an outstanding order of removal that he did not know about. His case is currently being reviewed by the Board of Immigration Appeals. ICE is planning on moving him out of Minnesota - away from his family and his lawyer - TODAY anyway. Deportations break up families, damage communities, and prevent students from learning in our schools. Call ICE at (612) 843-8600 Option #6 and tell them to keep and stop breaking up families!
