The first Black Student Union at Minneapolis College was formally created in November of 2019. BSU was created with the mission of advocating for Black students and providing them with the best and most useful resources possible to create a solid path of success for each individual. BSU wants students to be nothing but successful in anything they do. BSU began to quickly establish our own identity which led us to become an affinity group. We started developing an outreach platform that allowed us to develop different relationships with many departments, clubs, and individual stockholders on and off-campus. BSU began to gather resources on our own but also through deepening these relationships. We partnered with Students Against Hunger and Homelessness (SAHH) and successfully launched the first Free breakfast Program on campus on Monday, February 24th.
