Another round of late Friday afternoon vetoes by Governor Evers.

Today he vetoed crucial tax relief for Wisconsin citizens by rejecting a middle-class tax cut, relief for retirees, and support for married couples.

Yesterday myself any my fellow Republicans voted to provide the Chippewa Valley with additional financial resources to help restore Emergency Room capacity and ensure that this critical service will be available to people in need. There is no doubt that this vote will help save lives and benefit the wonderful people of our community. I'd also like to thank my fellow Representatives who voted in favor of both of these bills which will undoubtedly help our communities begin to heal from the recent loss of two hospitals.

Four bills I authored passed the State Assembly yesterday. Senate Bill 67 & Senate Bill 687 will now be sent to the Governor as they have already passed the State Senate. Assembly Bill 419 and Assembly Bill 779 were sent to the State Senate. I look forward to the State Senate taking action and voting on both of these bills in the near future.

Today is National Wisconsin Day! Do you know where our state's name comes from? "Wisconsin" (originally "Meskonsing") is the English spelling of a French version of a Miami Indian name for a river that runs 430 miles through the center of our state, currently known as the Wisconsin River. I was proud to vote for Assembly Joint Resolution 105 during today’s floor session. The resolution declares this week School Choice Week in Wisconsin. I will always support education policies that empower parents with more K-12 options for their children.
