September 11, 2001. Never Forget. 🇺🇸

On this day, Mineral Wells Fire & EMS remembers the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families, friends, and communities forever changed by that tragic day.

We honor the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to save others. We also remember the police officers, EMS providers, military members, and civilians who demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness.

Their actions remind us of the true meaning of service: to protect others, to answer the call, and to stand ready when our communities need us most.

Mineral Wells Fire & EMS honors their memory and the lasting legacy of courage, sacrifice, and service they left behind.

🔥 ELEVATED FIRE DANGER TODAY 🔥

Mineral Wells and the surrounding area are experiencing elevated fire danger today. Hot, dry conditions combined with wind can turn a small spark into a rapidly spreading wildfire.

We ask everyone to use extreme caution today:

🚫 Avoid outdoor burning whenever possible.
🔥 Be careful with grills, fire pits, welding, and other activities that produce heat or sparks.
🚬 Never discard ci******es or smoking materials on the ground.
🌾 Keep vehicles and equipment away from dry grass and vegetation.
👀 If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.

It only takes one spark to start a fire—and under today’s conditions, that fire can grow quickly.

Help us prevent the fire before we have to respond to it.

⚠️ Very High to Extreme Fire Danger on Thursday

The Texas A&M Forest Service has forecasted a Very High to Extreme risk for grass fires and wildfires in North Texas this Thursday, August 13. Drought conditions continue to build due high temperatures and lack of rain. On Thursday in particular, winds are projected to peak around 20-25mph throughout the day with low humidity levels, increasing the risk for fires.

Please be extra cautious on Thursday, and call 9-1-1 immediately if you spot a fire.
