On Labor Day, we recognize the hardworking men and women whose dedication and perseverance help make our communities stronger and our nation more prosperous.

Today, we celebrate workers across every profession and thank them for all they do each and every day. A special thank you to our first responders and all those who are working today to serve and protect our communities.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Labor Day!

Fresh lemonade for a great cause!

It was a pleasure stopping by to support two incredible Wantagh students who are now in their sixth year of hosting their annual lemonade stand to benefit the John Theissen Children’s Foundation. They’ll be there until 4:00 PM today at 2159 Beach Street in Wantagh, so be sure to stop by!

It was especially great to see a familiar face from the Miss Wantagh Organization, Giada Petrillo, continuing to give back to our community. Great to join Hempstead Town Clerk Kate Murray, Councilman Chris Schneider and Shannon Fredericks from Assemblyman Dave McDonough’s office in supporting these young members of our community and such a wonderful cause.

A great time was had by all at Wantagh’s final Live at Five of the summer! Even better spending the evening in our hometown alongside two fellow Wantagh graduates, Councilman Chris Schneider and Senator Steve Rhoads.

A tremendous thank you to the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce for putting together another wonderful Live at Five summer series, and to the Nassau County Police Department for being there throughout the summer to help keep our community safe. It is always great to be home in Wantagh!

Tomorrow is the last day to donate!

As Vice President of the Long Island Italian American Lions Club, I’m proud to partner on this meaningful service project supporting families staying at Ronald McDonald House.

Throughout the month of August, we’re collecting essential personal care items at our local drop-off locations.

Every donation makes a difference, and I hope you’ll consider joining us in giving back to families in need.

Fun Fact Friday! Did you know the Miss Wantagh Pageant has been a cherished local tradition since 1956?

For 70 years, the pageant has celebrated generations of young women for their commitment to academics, community service, and leadership. As a former Miss Wantagh myself, this tradition will always hold a special place in my heart.

Congratulations to Miss Wantagh 2026 Lilah Diaz on carrying this wonderful tradition into its 70th year!

Last week, I had the pleasure of hosting a Summer Fun Trunk-or-Treat at Wantagh Park with Senator Steve Rhoads. We collected personal care items to benefit Family & Children’s Association while giving local kids a chance to dress up, get some treats, and enjoy a fun afternoon.

We were joined by Councilman Chris Schneider, Assemblyman Dave McDonough’s representative Shannon Fredericks, and members of the Wantagh Lions Club. Thank you to all of the volunteers, community organizations, and families who came out and made the event a success!

I recently had the pleasure of singing our National Anthem at Town of Hempstead Supervisor John Ferretti’s Summer Concert Series at Forest City Park, joined by Councilman Dennis Dunne, Sr. It was a great evening enjoying the music of Wonderous Stories and spending time with our community. Thank you to Supervisor Ferretti and the Town of Hempstead for another wonderful summer concert!

It was a pleasure having Mairead Hill-Hotz intern in my office this summer! I’ve also had the pleasure of knowing Mairead through the Miss Wantagh Organization, where she currently serves as First Runner-Up to Miss Wantagh 2026.

Mairead was a tremendous asset to our office throughout the summer, and I am grateful for all of her hard work and dedication. Wishing her the very best as she begins her senior year at St. Anthony’s High School!

Thank you for all your hard work this summer, Mairead!
