On May 19th, OMA and our Women’s Center for Business & Leadership held a special event titled “Pearls of Wisdom: Women’s EmpowHerment” at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City. This auspicious event set out to gather and unite the women of Nassau County from diverse backgrounds while celebrating and empowering all those in attendance. OMA was proud not only to recognize honorees for their unwavering commitment to guiding, uplifting, and empowering other women and youth in their communities, but also to have facilitated a dynamic panel discussion featuring four accomplished women who shared their stories and wisdom. Thanks to all those who came out, as well as to all our honorees. A special note of gratitude for our distinguished panelists:

On April 21st, the Office of Minority Affairs was proud to present a citation on behalf of County Executive Bruce Blakeman at the grand opening of CitiMed in Hempstead. We are so glad to see more comprehensive on-site medical clinics opening in the Hempstead area, dedicated to providing exceptional treatment to those in need of physical therapy, accident recovery, chiropractic treatment and diagnostic care.

The Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs was very excited to join County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Deputy County Executive Anissa Moore in the honoring of Command Seargeant Major James A. Hodges, Sr. and celebrating his 98th birthday. His long life has been spent serving his country and his community, and we are thrilled to have been able to recognize his service.
