DA Donnelly announced $60,000 in grants to fund enhanced summer DWI enforcement in Long Beach and Freeport. The grants will help provide hundreds of hours of dedicated patrols to combat drunk and drugged driving during the Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Court is in session! ⚖️ DA Donnelly welcomed hundreds of young students from 30 Nassau County schools to Mineola for the Future Advocates Mock Trial Program.

For months, 9 of our ADAs have been coaching these bright students on the art of the trial—from evidence and discovery to cross-examination and closing arguments. Today, the training wheels came off as they stepped up for round 1! Congratulations to everyone who participated 👏

The program was founded by Joshua Brookstein, private practice attorney and chairperson of the School Engagement Subcommittee of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Community Releations and Public Education Committee.

Walking for a cause! NCDA was honored to participate in the 2026 Move with MADD Community Walk at Jones Beach Theater this past Saturday, helping to raise funds that support MADD’s mission to end impaired driving. The day became even more meaningful when our Vehicular Crimes Bureau received an emotional shout-out from a victim’s family during the keynote speeches. A reminder of why we do what we do—for the people behind every case. Huge thanks to everyone who donated to the NCDA team!

Big congratulations to this powerhouse team in our Vehicular Crimes Bureau! ADA Brittany Battista and ADA James Taglienti each received the “Recognition of Excellence District Attorney Award” at the 2026 New York State Law Enforcement Recognition Event in Albany.

The event is hosted by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) New York, STOP DWI, and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC).
