Young people making a BIG difference in our community!
I was proud to join Legislator Mazi Pilip, American Guitar Museum owner Chris Ambadjes, and the Lakeville Estates Civic Association to recognize Elizabeth Kennedy and Megan Lu for their incredible advocacy and commitment to our community.

Through their volunteer efforts, Elizabeth and Megan brought the American Guitar Museum’s need for funding assistance to our attention. Legislator Pilip and I were proud to work together to secure a $30,000 Nassau County Hotel Motel Fund grant to support critical renovations, including painting, flooring, and exterior repairs.

But the students didn’t stop there.

Elizabeth and Megan independently raised more than $1,400 and helped rebuild the museum’s fence with the support of local residents and the Gold Coast-Lake Success Rotary Club.
Elizabeth and Megan saw a need and took action.
Their initiative and dedication are a wonderful example of how young people can make a meaningful difference in their community. I’m proud to support their efforts and help preserve this unique New Hyde Park institution for generations to come!

Reminder:
This important program will be conducted virtually via ZOOM and will help people identify the signs of an op**te overdose, how to administer the lifesaving overdose-reversal antidote NARCAN, and new treatment approaches available in Nassau County.

All those who attend the entire 90-minute virtual program are eligible to pick-up a free NARCAN kit from 60 Charles Lindbergh Blvd. in Uniondale.

It was an honor to attend the 39th Annual Salute to Veterans at Nassau County's Eisenhower Park, a wonderful tradition dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the brave men and women who have served our nation.

The event brought together a tremendous crowd of Veterans, their families, friends, and community members to pay tribute to the sacrifices and service of those who have defended our freedoms. It was inspiring to see so many people come together in appreciation of our local heroes.

Congratulations to this year's honorees on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you to all of our Veterans for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our country. We are forever grateful for your service.
