How is your Friday going? Ours started out with 140 kindergartners. It’s always a treat to have these kids come see us. Although we didn’t realize there were SO MANY. Everyone had a good time.

EMERGENCY ALERT TEST. TODAY AT 1:00PM.

As part of the Texas Division of Emergency Management mass notification drill, the City of Mineola will be sending out emergency notification TEST messages through the Wood County Emergency Notification System. The tests that we will send are specific to residents within the city limits of Mineola that have registered with RAVE/Smart 911. We will be conducting this test at 1:00pm today weather permitting. we will also be activating our outdoor warning sirens for a 3 minute cycle as long as no storms are in the area. If you have not registered to receive emergency notifications, please follow this link to get registered.

This service helps 9-1-1 protect your family by providing more information to first responders. You should sign up too, it is free!

In case anyone was wondering about the large smoke columns north of Mineola, it is a controlled burn on FM 779 west and of HWY 37. There is a burn contractor performing this for the land owner. Wood County SO and the Texas A&M Forest Service are aware of it.

Rodeo time is around the corner, July 10, 11. We will be contacting our sponsors, starting today and we will be visiting each one in person as much as possible. Personnel will be dressed in a Mineola Fire Department uniform and will also be in a Mineola Fire Department vehicle.
