Across Nassau County, communities came together to honor the innocent lives lost on September 11th, to remember the who ran toward danger, and pay tribute to the families and loved ones forever impacted.

These gatherings remind us of the unity and strength we found in one another in the days that followed. We carry that spirit with us as we remember those we lost and the first responders and service members who sacrificed to protect others.

Twenty-five years later, we remember September 11, 2001, and the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost in the terrorist attacks on our nation.

We honor the victims, their families and survivors, and remember the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, military personnel and countless Americans who came together in the aftermath.

We will never forget those we lost and the heroes who answered the call to serve and protect.
