Nassau County’s 3rd Annual Imam Hussain Day remains the only official Imam Hussain Day observance in the United States, honoring the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his loyal companions in Karbala over 1,400 years ago. His timeless message of justice, courage, sacrifice, and standing against tyranny continues to inspire millions worldwide. On behalf of the community, I extend my sincere gratitude to County Executive Bruce Blakeman for recognizing these universal values and for his steadfast support of this important commemoration, which brings people of all backgrounds together in remembrance of one of history’s greatest sacrifices.
