Mine Hill Volunteer Fire Department

Organized in 1915, the MHFD has been dedicated to protecting the lives and properties of the residents of Mine Hill for almost 95 years. The MHFD stands ready each and every day of the year to respond, at a moment's notice, 24 hours a day. The members take great pride in maintaining all of the vehicles and equipment. Each year the Department participates in var

ious activities (parades, antique musters, etc.) with the side benefit of always having the vehicles and equipment in tip top shape. In addition to protecting life and property, the Fire Department sponsors many activities throughout the year such as the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, the Halloween Parade, and Santa Claus' ride through the town. In addition, we sponsor many organizations each year such as the Boy Scouts, Little League, Dover Football, etc. Fireman's Field and the children's playground area, which is used by all, is also maintained by the Fire Department. As always, the Fire Department is looking for volunteer firefighters. If you would like to apply, please stop by the Fire House any Monday evening between 7 and 9, and they will be glad to show you around!

On May 2nd, 2026, just in time for Mother's Day, the Mine Hill Fire Department will be holding a flower sale fundraiser at the fire house! Please see the flyer below for the options and inventory that we are going to have. We also have an option to pre-order to ensure we have what you need on May 2nd! We are holding our annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 28th starting at 1pm!! Please bring your own bag or basket to collect the Easter Eggs. We enjoy having this event every year and we look forward to seeing everyone!!

With multiple families in our community suffering from great loss, we encourage anyone who can assist them to do so. This list will likely continue to grow, however, right now they need the following items:

Women's size 5 / medium clothing
Women's small shirts and size 26-28 pants
Women's size 10 clothing
Women's size 8.5 shoes
Men's and women's general medium clothing
Men's and women's underwear and socks

The Mine Hill Fire Department in coordination with Miller's Ale House is offering another fundraising opportunity for our playground project. This Friday, May 16th, Miller's Ale House in Rockaway is offering a promotion to help support our project. Stop by at any point from 11AM-12AM and get some delicious food! Around 5:30pm we will be bringing down a truck or two for pictures, questions, whatever you want!!
**Make sure to present this flyer at the time of payment for the Mine Hill Fire Department to receive the 20% donation**

Another fundraiser opportunity!! The Mine Hill Fire Department is overwhelmed by the community's generosity, we set a large goal and with all of your support we know we can achieve it. We have partnered with The Miner's Apron for a two day fundraising event. Stop by for some delicious food on May 6th AND/OR June 8th to support our playground project. Attention Easter Egg Hunt goers!! We’ve decided to move the Easter Egg Hunt to Sunday the 13th due to incoming weather on Saturday. The raffle winner will also now be drawn on Sunday. We still hope to see all of you there! Please share with friends who are planning on attending!
