Did you spend the last month living under a rock? Or maybe you just thought "I'll do it tomorrow" until tomorrow became... today?

Don’t panic! Douglas County has your back with Same Day Registration. Whether you’re new to the area, just turned 18, or simply forgot that calendars exist, you can still make your voice heard.

📜 The "Need-to-Know" for the Procrastinator:
📅 When: May 27 – June 9 (and yes, that includes Election Day!).

📍 Where: This isn't a "couch-and-pajamas" situation. You MUST show up in person at a designated Douglas County Vote Center.

🗳️ The Catch: Because you’re fashionably late to the party, you will vote a Provisional Ballot. It’s like a regular ballot, but it goes through a special VIP security check to make sure everything is official before it’s counted.

🏃‍♂️ What to do:
Grab your ID.

Put on some shoes (optional, but recommended for public places).

Head to a Vote Center.

Register and vote all in one go.

Don’t let your excuses outvote you! Show up, get registered, and get it done.

If a ballot shows up for someone who’s long gone, resist the urge to "file it in the trash." Instead, grab a Sharpie and write RETURN TO SENDER. By sending it back, you’re triggering the internal process that helps election officials keep their data fresh and ensures ballots are going exactly where they belong. One small scribble for you, one giant leap for organized elections. 🖊️✅

Woo-hoo!! 🎉 Yippee!! 🥳 You have two whole weeks to get your voting done early, Douglas County!

That means "the dog ate my ballot," 🐶 "I got stuck behind a tractor on 395," 100% of "I thought it was next week," and all other creative excuses won't fly! 🚜❌

Early Voting starts TODAY and runs daily (except 5/24/26, 5/25/26, and 5/31/26) through June 5th at the Douglas County Community Center.

🗳️ Dropping off your mail ballot? We have a super convenient drive-thru drop box located right in the parking lot at the Historic Courthouse (1616 8th Street in Minden)! You don't even have to get out of your car. 🚗💨

Avoid the Election Day rush on June 9th and knock it out this week. We’ve got the voting booths ready, the drop boxes waiting, and plenty of shiny "I Voted" stickers to hand out. 🎟️✨

The "Bike the Vote" Double-Header 🚲🗳️

Did you know today is Bike to Work Day? (Or as we like to call it in Douglas County: "The Great Quad-Burning Commute.")

If you made it to the office on two wheels today, congratulations! You’ve officially completed your training for the Main Event. In just 3 days, you can trade your office commute for a trip to the vote center. Early Voting starts Saturday, May 23! Why you should bike to vote this Saturday:

Zero Traffic: While everyone else is fighting for a spot at the Community Center, you’re coasting right to the front.

Post-Vote Glow: That "I Voted" sticker adds at least 5 horsepower to your pedaling.

The Scenic Route: Voting is a lot more fun when you can take the long way home through the Valley.

Whether you're biking, driving, or unicycling, we'll see you starting May 23!
