Phew! The 2026 Primary Election is officially behind us, and we’ve finally caught our breath. 😮‍💨 Standard recovery time in Douglas County involves equal parts coffee, avoiding our mailboxes, and staring blankly at the beautiful Carson Valley views to reset our brains. 🌲🏔️

But don’t get too comfortable! The charts are reset, the batteries are recharged, and we are officially gearing up for the big show in November. 🚀

Please note the upcoming Friday holiday closure. Our offices be open again at 8am on Monday, June 22.

In observance of Juneteenth, Douglas County administrative offices will be closed on Friday, June 19.
Normal office hours will resume on Monday, June 22. 🙌

Behind every secure vote, every smoothly run vote center, and every counted ballot, is a team of dedicated neighbors who step up to make democracy happen.

We are so incredibly grateful to welcome a fantastic wave of new workers who jumped right in this year, working alongside our wonderful returning veterans who bring their trusted experience back to the tables election after election. And a huge shoutout to our full-time Clerk-Treasurer staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the entire operation running flawlessly!

Let’s be honest—nobody is doing this for the paycheck! They do it because they care deeply about our community. Year after year, our workers show up early, stay late, and bring an unmatched level of enthusiasm, patience, and kindness to the job.

Our elections simply could not succeed without your hard work and unwavering dedication. You are the backbone of our community, and we appreciate you more than words can say.

Uh-oh… Did your ballot envelope signature look a little more "chicken scratch" than "official document" this year? ✍️🐔

We get it. Sometimes you’re signing on a counter, sometimes you're rushing, and sometimes your signature changes depending on how much coffee you’ve had.

But if your signature on your ballot envelope doesn't quite match what we have on file, your ballot goes into "time-out." The good news? You can easily fix it! It’s called ballot curing, and it just means we need you to confirm that you are, indeed, you.

How to fix it:
Keep an eye out for a letter, email, or call from our office. Follow the quick instructions to cure your signature so your vote can be officially counted! Visit our website to see if your name is on the list!

The best weekend of the summer is finally here! From the parade and the carnival to the live music and family games, Carson Valley Days is the ultimate tradition that reminds us why we love calling Douglas County home.

Breaking News: Local Election Staff Discovers Humans Can, In Fact, Blink While Asleep. 📰😴

We survived Election Night! 🙌🎉 While the machinery performed flawlessly, the human elements of the Douglas County Election office are currently running on fumes, willpower, and leftover snacks.

We are so proud of the hard work that went into keeping this election smooth, secure, and transparent. That being said, if our emails today look like "Thsnks for votiinggnasgdlkjasd," please look the other way. Our brains are currently downloading a massive sleep update. 🧠💾

WOOT WOOT! 🙌🎉 Up and at em'!! The waiting is officially over, Douglas County! Put down your morning coffee (or take it with you), lace up your sneakers, and get out there to do your thing. TODAY IS THE DAY! 🗳️✨

Think of voting as your personal superpower—except instead of wearing a cape, you get to wear our BRAND NEW "I Voted" sticker. And trust us, it’s a look that goes with everything. 🤩👕
We are hard at work at each of the vote centers, eagerly awaiting your arrival and can't wait to see those smiling faces!!

Here is everything you need to know to crush your civic duty today:

🗳️ In-Person Voting (The Main Event!)
Want to make a grand entrance, slide your ballot into the machine, and high-five our amazing poll workers?

Where: You can vote at any one of the valley's five vote centers 📍
Check your sample ballot or our website for all vote center locations!

Hours: All vote centers are open from 7 AM until 7 PM sharp! (Pro-tip: As long as you are physically in line by 7:00 PM, you legally MUST be allowed to vote. Don’t leave!) Please don't show up at 7:01 PM, we'd hate to say NO, but we will 😣

🚗 Last-Minute Mail-In Ballot Drop-Off
Still holding onto that mail-in ballot on your kitchen counter? You can still make it count:

Drop Boxes: Drive it over to an official ballot drop box by 7:00 PM tonight.

Postmarked: If you're dropping it in a regular mailbox, it must be postmarked today. (Make sure you don't miss the post office's final daily pickup time!)

Woot Woot!! 🥳🎉 The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Dust off your sample ballots, stretch those voting fingers, and get ready to make your voice heard!

If you’ve been procrastinating, this is your official sign from the universe to get your game plan together. No more "I'll do it tomorrow"—because tomorrow is literally the day!

When: Tomorrow, June 9th!

Hours: Polling locations are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. As long as you are in line by 7:00 PM, you WILL get to vote!

We might be a little biased, but is there anywhere more beautiful than the Carson Valley? From the majestic snow-capped peaks of the Sierras to the wide-open green pastures, the scenery here is unmatched.

But the absolute best part of the Valley? Our community. 💙

Whether it’s neighbors helping neighbors, friendly waves on the road, or local folks stepping up to serve, it’s the people who make this place truly feel like home. We are so proud to serve such an incredible, tight-knit community!
