Attention: Nebraska 4-H State Fair Livestock Exhibitors ❗️
Don’t forget that June 15 is the deadline to complete the online nomination process for any livestock animal you may want to enter for the Nebraska State Fair 4-H.

The process includes:
• Enroll in 4-H
• Review the 4-H animal fairbooks and ID requirements
• Ask the Extension office for official DNA envelopes
• Go to Show Stock Manager and complete the online form for each livestock nomination
• Submit payment in Show Stock Manager
• Turn in your signed and sealed DNA envelopes with hair samples to the Extension office

So proud of our 4-H’ers who competed this week in 4-H PASE (Premier Animal Science Events). They did so well competing in Livestock Quiz Bowl and Livestock Judging! Way to step out of your comfort zone and for some of you try something new. You all did so well!!

Ira fourth place Beef Junior Division.
Everett seventh place Intermediate Sheep and Goats Division.

Congrats to Sydney, Jada, Alden, Everett, Dexter, Ira, Claire and Collins on a great week! A big thank you to Spencer Jezbera for helping coach!

Congratulations to all of our 4-H Seniors graduating from High School! We are so very proud of all of you. Congrats Alyssa on being featured for your outstanding 4-H career!!
You are all going to do amazing things!!!

Alyssa Johnson, a recent Minden High School graduate from Kearney County, knows relationship building is at the heart of 4-H.

Alyssa dedicated herself to her Horse and Home-Raised Market Steer Projects, which gave her opportunities to meet others with similar interests — peers and mentors. These connections elevated her skills in the ring and taught her the importance of giving grace to yourself and others on bad days.

The relationships Alyssa formed in 4-H have inspired her to pass on this lesson to the next generation of 4-H'ers and her future Agriculture Education students.

A Freeze May Hit Yards and Gardens This Weekend!
Take action now to prevent damage to plants before temperatures dip below freezing.
• Unhook hoses and protect backflow preventers.
• Don’t walk or work on lawns showing frost.
• Save tender plants from a cold demise, bring them inside or cover with staked bedsheets overnight until the frost disappears.
