Not too late to plant a garden! There are still some plots left both in the Open Grounds Community Garden on Linwood and Campbell Community Garden on grounds of Hector Campbell Grade school. With all the great weather we've had, both community gardens have a jump start on the season! Campbell Community Garden has already donated 60 lbs. of produce this year and is preparing a rhubarb bed. Open Grounds Community Garden has their donation plot planted and is preparing to build a tool shed. 6 plots still available and waiting to grow good things to eat!!

Once again, 52nd Ave. Hardware has come through giving us a deal on cedar for the new garden beds at Open Grounds Community Garden. This local, family run business offers friendly, knowledgable service at competitive prices. Additionally they are a fun bunch of characters!!

Thanks to the Clackamas Co. Master Gardeners for awarding a generous $500 grant to the Campbell Community Garden! The Master Gardener program offers training, education, workshops, a hotline and so much more. Check them out at www.metromastergardeners.org.

Day before Earth Day was a great day for Milwaukie Community Gardens!! Open Grounds got cleaned up and a new space was tilled for the community beds. Thanks to all and Craig of Ground Up Services for tilling. Campbell Community Garden had it's first work party. All of the beds and paths were marked off. Still spots left in this community garden. Great day wasn't it??!!
