May kept us moving! 🐝
From emergency calls and training drills to community events and public education, our crews stayed busy serving and protecting our community. Here’s a look at what went on behind the scenes of a busy month of service, teamwork, and dedication. 🚒
(1) Just before 1:40 pm on 5/19, our Water Rescue Team was dispatched to Aurora to respond to a couple who were unable to free their boat from a patch of logs due to a strong current. During the response, one of the victims began to experience a medical event. Together with TVF&R, Aurora Fire and Lake Oswego Fire, the Water Rescue Consortium were able to rescue the couple from their boat, where TVF&R then treated and transported the patient. Responding units: E915, CCRWTEAM, AMRDA, C901, WR319, R054, E059, WR059, BC303, AMRDC, DR214, WR020, C06, WR212
(2) Our newest recruits graduated from the fire academy just last week, but not before some intense hose training!
(3) I spy: Crew 30 (our Wildland crew) in full prep mode, gearing up for summer.
(4) Group shot! All smiles from our Tech Rescue team during a training on (or off?) the Abernathy Bridge.
(5) T316 and HR305 spent a bluebird day checking hoses off a 105-foot ladder and enjoying the view of Mt. Hood!
(6) It’s always a treat to spend the day tomorrow’s firefighters! A big thanks to North Clackamas School District for letting us spend the day with some of their kindergarteners.
(7) A group shot of just a few members of the multi-jurisdictional team who responded to a trapped climber on Mt. Hood, pinned under a 16k-pound boulder. Responding units from Clackamas Fire: S319, HR305, T316, BC301
