Painting in nature has always been part of Judy’s life. At Marquis Eugene, she often shared her artwork and the memories behind each canvas. But she always dreamed of getting back outside to paint, so our team helped make it happen.

At Alton Baker Park, Judy set up her easel beside the pond, surrounded by greenery and curious ducks. For more than an hour, she painted the wildlife around her, sharing the moment with her care team and letting the scenery guide her brush. 🌿🎨

Afterward, they headed to McMenamins Pubs, Breweries & Historic Hotels for a burger, cheesecake and a chance to reflect on the day: “This was one of the best days I’ve had,” Judy said.

Sometimes, a meaningful day starts with simply helping someone get back to what they love. ✨

Music has always been a part of David’s life. When he moved to Marquis Newberg, he was no longer able to play the bagpipes he loved, but he always dreamed of hearing them live again. 🎶

The team at Marquis Newberg wanted to help bring that dream back to life, so they invited professional bagpiper, Gordon, for a special performance just for David.

As Gordon played David’s favorite song, "Dark Island," David’s fingers instinctively moved along with the music: “My fingers remember how to play!” he exclaimed. 🎵

It was a beautiful moment that brought David right back to his love of music. 🧡

For more than 25 years, Debbie has never been afraid to roll up her sleeves and jump in:

A staff member calls out? She fills in. 📲
A dishwasher is needed? She’s there. 🍽️
A special event needs a little extra? Debbie is already firing up the grill. 🥩

And somehow, she does it all while managing her team, coordinating care needs, navigating dietary restrictions and making sure every resident feels cared for. That’s that kind of everyday dedication that leaves a lasting legacy. 🧡

Barbara and Autumn met at Marquis Piedmont and quickly became close friends. Together, they shared a love of adventure, including trips to the Oregon coast. When Autumn passed away, Barbara missed her deeply and worried she might never make it back to the beach.

Her team at Marquis knew how much the coast meant to Barbara: they planned a special trip down Highway 101, giving Barbara the chance to revisit places she loved, make new memories, and even take her first-ever helicopter ride. 🚁🏖️

Barbara brought a picture of Autumn along for the journey.: “I wish Autumn was here, but I know she’s always with us... in our hearts.” Some adventures are about where you’re going. Others are about who you carry with you. 🧡

A little red, white, blue, and a whole lot of gratitude! ❤️✈️

Our teams gathered at Columbia Aviation Association to support and cheer on senior veterans as they took to the skies in WWII-era biplanes.

Evelyn has always loved the finer things in life. She and her husband, Lloyd, spent years enjoying fine food and w**e together, making dining out a favorite part of their life.

The Marquis Newberg team knew Evelyn’s should bring her back to something she had always loved: a night out. ✨ Joined by her daughter, Patty, Evelyn dressed up for an evening at The Allison Inn & Spa, complete with a manicure, three-course meal, and w**e tasting. 🍷🍽️

The evening gave Evelyn a chance to return to something she had always loved while making a new memory with her daughter. As she sipped her favorite Pinot Gris, she smiled and said, “This was quite an experience; an evening to remember!” 🧡
