💚 Building Community From Within 💚

One of the opportunities I have been blessed to facilitate during my Human Services internship at HALO is our monthly Community Conversations group.

This space was created specifically for members of the HALO community, individuals and families who are currently residing at HALO, have previously resided at HALO, or are actively participating in HALO supportive service programs.

As I continue learning and growing in the field of Human Services, I have begun to understand the importance of having a purpose behind every group. Community Conversations is more than just gathering together; it is about creating a safe and supportive environment where individuals can feel heard, respected, and encouraged.

Our focus is on peeling back layers, breaking down walls, building trust, and creating a firm foundation for growth. We recognize that every person’s journey is different. Some are navigating housing challenges, employment barriers, recovery, family concerns, grief, or simply trying to figure out their next step in life.

The goal is not to force anyone to share. The goal is to create a space where people know they are not alone.

Through meaningful conversations, active listening, encouragement, and shared experiences, we are building a stronger HALO community, one conversation at a time.

I am grateful for the opportunity to learn, facilitate, and grow alongside the incredible individuals and families I meet through this journey.

💚 Different stories. One HALO community. Better together.

She spoke nothing but facts!

As I continue building my own business and creating my own connections, I find myself reflecting on exactly what she said in this video. Too often, we work hard trying to earn a seat at tables that were never truly designed with our communities in mind. We shake hands, attend meetings, and support organizations that claim to care, yet when it’s time to invest in our people, the support is limited or nonexistent.

Many of these organizations may be for us in theory, but not always for us in practice. They give us one seat at the table and expect us to feel included, while the real decisions, resources, and opportunities remain out of reach.

I’m learning that sometimes the answer isn’t fighting for a seat at someone else’s table, it’s building our own table, creating our own opportunities, and making room for the people who have been overlooked for far too long.

That’s the mission I’m committed to. Building, connecting, empowering, and creating spaces where our communities don’t just have a voice, they have ownership.

Hey family 💙💛💚🧡

I want to personally invite you to something special happening in our community!

We’re hosting a **Real Colors experience** at church, and this is more than just an event, it’s an opportunity to understand yourself better, strengthen your relationships, and grow into who God is calling you to be.

📍 Location: 2711 19th St, Racine, WI
📅 Date: May 2nd
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

This experience helped me see myself in a whole new way; how I love, how I lead, how I learn, and how I serve. And if you’re in a season of growth, healing, or just trying to figure things out… this is for you.

No matter where you are in life, **you are welcome here**. Come as you are. Bring a friend, bring your family, or just bring yourself.

Let’s grow together. Let’s learn together. Let’s become better, together.

I would truly love to see you there 💫

Just ended the orientation session with my Apostle Latoya Thurmond. Now, have me doing some self-reflection and as we went over our Real Colors assessment… I was amazed it spoke directly to the season I’m in right now 💙💛💚🧡

My results:
💙 Blue (39) -My heart leads first
💛 Gold (32) -I’m built on structure and responsibility
💚 Green (30) -I’m committed to learning and understanding
🧡 Orange (19) -Growing in stepping out and embracing the moment

What this means for me…

💙 Blue reminds me that my purpose is rooted in people. I care deeply, I feel deeply, and I am called to serve, uplift, and create safe spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued.

💛 Gold keeps me grounded. It’s the part of me that shows up, stays committed, does the work, and builds things the right way; with integrity, discipline, and accountability.

💚 Green is my learning season. It’s why I ask questions, seek knowledge, and stay open to growth. I’m not afraid to say “I’m still learning,” because I know that’s where transformation happens.

🧡 Orange reminds me to keep stretching; to step outside of my comfort zone, trust the process, and walk boldly into new spaces.

Right now, I am in a development season. I am learning, growing, building, and becoming. And I’m okay with that. I don’t have to rush the process because I trust what God is doing in me.

I truly believe that when God is finished developing me, I will be one of the greatest servants this world has ever encountered; not because of perfection, but because of purpose, compassion, and obedience.

Every step I’m taking right now; every lesson, every challenge, every opportunity, is shaping the woman I am becoming.

And I’m embracing it all 💫

Hey everyone 💛

I wanted to share where I’m at in my journey right now.

I’m currently looking for a Summer 2026 internship (field placement) in Racine County or Kenosha County in Human Services. This is a required part of my program, and I need about 150 hands-on hours in a setting where I can learn and grow.

I’ve been putting in the work! I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA for the past three semesters, and I’m not slowing down. I’m continuing toward my bachelor’s and eventually my master’s in counseling.

But more than anything… this is deeper than school for me.

I’m building my tool belt 🛠️
Every class, every experience, every connection, I’m learning the tools I need so I can be fully equipped to serve my community the RIGHT way.

I didn’t start my vision just to say I have something going on. I’m taking my time to learn, grow, and understand so I can truly show up for people; not just for a paycheck, not just for a title, but because I genuinely care.

I want to be someone people can depend on. Someone who shows up for healing, for growth, for real support.

If anyone has connections with Racine County, Kenosha County, or knows of places that support internships in mental health, crisis support, or community services, please reach out or send them my way.

I’m ready. I’m willing. And I’m committed to this mission for the long run.

💛
