Here's the latest update from DPW Milwaukee on the Holton St. Bridge Project.

Beginning August 5, 2024:

• The North Holton Street Bridge will be CLOSED
to all traffic while the project team continues
bridge restoration operations. The bridge is
expected to remain closed through Fall 2024.
• Motorists are encouraged to use Pleasant
Street and Humboldt Avenue to cross the
Milwaukee River.
• The Marsupial Bridge, located under the
North Holton Street Bridge, is expected to
intermittently close August 5 through August 7

All work will take place from approximately
7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Here's the latest update from DPW Milwaukee on the Van Buren Transformation Project

Traffic on Van Buren Street between Kilbourn Avenue and Brady Street has shifted east onto the northbound lanes, while crews work along the southbound lanes.

Ramp and sidewalk closures have started along the west side of Van Buren Street.

Pedestrians should utilize the newly open sidewalk along the east side of Van Buren Street

Heres the latest update on the W. Walnut & W. Pleasant St. Project from DPW Milwaukee

TOMORROW, Tuesday, June 18, eastbound W. Walnut Street from Vel R. Phillips Avenue to N. 2nd Street will be closed from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as curb and gutter are poured in the project area. The same area will also be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 20.

Eastbound travel lanes will reopen at the end of business day on both days. The westbound travel lanes on W. Walnut Street will not be impacted by this work.

There will be one lane traffic going eastbound and westbound on W. Walnut St. between Vel R. Phillips Ave. and MLK Jr. Dr.

The right turn lane from Walnut St. to southbound MLK Jr. Dr will be closed.

A reminder that most DPW and City of Milwaukee offices will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of and will return to regular hours on Tuesday, May 28.

There will be no garbage and recycling pick-up on Monday. Collection days shift forward after each City holiday.

No parking meter or hourly enforcement on Monday and no overnight parking enforcement Sunday night into Monday morning or Monday night into Tuesday morning. However, vehicles still must be legally parked and not in violation of any posted parking regulations.

The tow lot and drop-off centers will be closed Monday.

Department of Public Works services will be available for standard weekend hours of operation.
