Happy ! 🎉

Today we celebrate everyone and everything that makes Milwaukee great. And that includes something not enough people know: Milwaukee is a national leader in addressing homelessness.

We know the struggle. As Milwaukeeans, we're used to showing up on the bottom of good lists and the top of the bad ones. But, do we know our successes?

"Even as the nation’s homeless population grew dramatically, [Milwaukee] county managed a 16 percent reduction by following a blueprint that has served it well for a decade."

So, if your celebration calls for a deeper dive on how our community is using collaboration, care and persistence to make progress on a difficult challenge, check out the article from Governing in the comments — and here's to the progress made and the work still ahead.
