Today marks the conclusion of a difficult chapter for District 2, the Milwaukee Police Department, the family of Officer Corder and Officer McCray, and our community. The sentencing of the individual responsible for Officer Corder's death and Officer McCray’s injuries reflects the outcome of a thorough investigation and judicial process. The defendant will serve life in prison without the possibility of release, and additional confinement added consecutively to follow for his other charges.

While no sentence can restore the life that was taken or erase the pain felt by their loved ones, colleagues, and friends, we are grateful for the dedication of the investigators, prosecutors, and all those who worked to pursue and serve justice.

Officer Corder served this community with courage, professionalism, and commitment. We continue to honor his memory and the sacrifice he made in the line of duty.

Our thoughts remain with Officer Corder's family and Officer McCray, and we thank the community for its support throughout this process. District 2 remains committed to serving and protecting our residents while upholding the values for which Officer Corder stood.

While conducting surveillance Milwaukee Police Department - District Two Violent Crime Reduction Team (VCRT) observed a drug transaction in a vehicle.

Officer Whitelys' K9 Thor "hit" on both vehicles and drugs were recovered from each as well as more drugs and a firearm from inside a residence. A 42-year-old female and a 40-year-old male were taken into custody. Charges will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
