It's Feature Friday! Today, we want to spotlight Pepita Johnson! Pepita is the City of Milwaukee's Training and Development Coordinator, and enjoys serving the community and sharing her drive and dedication to public service.

"My journey with the City of Milwaukee began in 2011 as a Code Enforcement Intern with the Department of Neighborhood Services (DNS). What started as an opportunity to learn and serve grew into a meaningful career shaped by hard work, perseverance, and a deep love for this community.

Today, as the City’s Training and Development Coordinator, I am honored to help employees grow, lead, and reach their full potential. I believe that when people are given the tools and support to succeed, they can make a lasting difference in the lives of others and in the communities they serve.

As a proud Milwaukee native, Navy veteran, and mother of three sons, I am passionate about giving back to the city that has given me so much. Being recognized once again as a Feature Friday honoree, six years after my first recognition, is truly an honor. I hope my journey reflects the power of service, resilience, and lifelong learning, and encourages others to believe in what is possible through dedication and purpose. Above all, I am proud to be called a public servant."

We are proud to have you on our City team, and we thank you for all you do!

It's Feature Friday! Today, we want to spotlight Maricha Harris! Maricha is the Deputy Director for the City's Election Commission and credits her work with the community for who she is today.

"I am the Deputy Director for the City of Milwaukee’s Election Commission. I’ve been in this department since I started at the City on January 27, 2025. I love working for the City of Milwaukee because it provides me with an incredible opportunity to serve the entire city where I was born and raised. Milwaukee has shaped me into who I am today, and for that, I am forever indebted to my City! I’m passionate about community service because I want to contribute to positive change. I also love art, music, food, and connecting with good people!"
