Three days away. The 8th Annual Love Without Violence Conference is almost here, and we want you in the room.

Over two days, we’re bringing the community together for real conversations about domestic violence, healthy relationships, healing, and community action. Expect panels, breakout sessions, and community resources, with survivors, advocates, organizations, and neighbors all in the same space.

Pastor Kenneth Lock II of Evolve Church opens the conference as our Keynote Speaker. Shawn Muhammad, with over 27 years in intimate partner and family violence prevention, closes it out on Day 2. We’ll also be honoring this year’s Purple Ribbon Award recipients for the work they’re doing to prevent domestic violence across Milwaukee.

This conference is about more than two days of conversation. It’s about leaving with tools, connections, and support that last long after it ends.

The conference is free and open to the community. Register now and bring someone with you.

Tomorrow, This Is Our City: The Countdown is moving to 2nd & Burleigh.
We're bringing the strength of the city directly to the areas that need it most. City departments, community partners, and neighbors are coming together to walk the block, clean up, connect with residents, and make sure people have access to resources that can make a lasting difference.
That means jobs, housing assistance, mental health support, community resources, and more. And it doesn't stop when the walk ends. Residents will be connected to resources for ongoing support, because this is about creating lasting impact in our neighborhoods.
The more of us who show up, the more we can get done.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week, we took our commitment to wellness and healing directly into the community! 💚

Together with 11 clinicians, students, and the Milwaukee Health Department, we hit the streets to connect with residents, raise awareness, and share information about accessing mental health services.

And what an impact we made!

Residents approached us, asked questions, learned about available resources, and expressed genuine gratitude for simply showing up and having these important conversations.

It was a beautiful and much-needed reminder that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is meet people where they are, listen, and remind them that support is available.

Mental health matters. Healing matters. And our communities deserve access to both.

This is our city, and wellness is part of building a safer, stronger Milwaukee! 💚

Healthy love is built on respect and safety. Pastor Kenneth Lock II has spent years helping people build exactly that.

As the leader of Evolve Church here in Milwaukee, and as a pastor and counselor, he has walked with hundreds of couples toward relationships rooted in respect, safety, and God's design for love. His message on healing from trauma speaks to anyone who has been carrying pain quietly. That pain doesn't get the final word.

On October 15, Pastor Kenneth Lock II takes the keynote stage at the 8th Annual Love Without Violence Conference to talk about breaking cycles of harm and building love that heals. Come be in the room for it.

October 1st marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

This month is bigger than wearing purple. It’s about awareness. Education. Prevention. Healing. And having conversations that too often happen behind closed doors.

On October 15th & 16th, DCWS invites our community to the 8th Annual Love Without Violence Conference! Two days of real conversations around healthy relationships, domestic violence prevention, healing, and building communities rooted in love.

And this year, there’s even more value: the everyone who register and attends will have the opportunity to receive Continuing Education Hours through the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

Whether you work in this field, serve families, mentor young people, lead in the community, or simply want to learn…this conference is for you!

💜 Love should feel safe.
💜 Love should not hurt.
💜 Love without violence starts with all of us.

Share this. Bring somebody with you. Let’s have the conversations that can change and save lives!
