Milwaukee PD District 4 - Auxiliary Police & Public Safety Cadets

Upon acceptance as a Auxiliary Police Officer a basic course of training will be provided at the Police Academy. The basic training includes:

Crowd Control and Self Defense

State Laws and City Ordinaces

First Aid and CPR

Traffic Control and Radio Commincations

Crime Prevention Techniques

What Activities Do Auxiliary Officers Take Part In?-

You may be assigned to assist with traffics or crowd control at such events as 4th of July Celebrations, Parades, Summer Runs, or other various events.

What About a Uniform?-

The Department will provide uniforms at NO COST. Your uniform is similar to a sworn Police Officer’s uniform, excpet for a light blue color and patch. Other equipment may be supplied as needed.

How Do I Qualify?-

To be accepted as an Auxiliary Police Officer you must;

-Be a United Stated Citizen

-Be at least 18 years of age

-Be free of any felony crime convictions

-Be of good moral character

-Be free of an unfavorable police record

-Be willing to serve a minimum of 40 hours per year and attend monthly meetings
