Saturday, Havenwoods State Forest opens their Braille Trail! Join us!

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources invites the public to join DNR staff and partners to celebrate the opening of the new Braille Trail at Havenwoods State Forest on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026.

We have tons of fun, free events happening every week here at Havenwoods. It’s also the best time to come out and see the fall colors popping up across the property.

This Saturday! Celebrate Oktoberfest season with a unique nature twist! Join us for OktoberBEAST at Havenwoods State Forest.

We’ll take a scenic morning hike to explore nature symbols rooted in German culture—like oak leaves, linden trees, deer, and forest songbirds. Plus, we’ll learn a popular traditional German hiking song along the trail!

Note: The program will be spoken mostly in German to help participants practice language skills, but all ages and skill levels are welcome! Alle willkommen! 🙌

The Naturalist Backyard is one area on the property where you can see beautiful wildflowers of all shapes and colors. Located just north of the nature center, this secluded spot provides an inviting space to explore while also supporting native birds and insects.
