Last month, CPT Tiongco attended the dedication of a statue honoring military nurses at the Ashley for the Arts festival in Arcadia, WI, and spoke about the important role nurses fulfill within Army Medicine. The statue is of COL(R) Ruby Bradley, a highly decorated Army nurse who was held prisoner of war in the Philippines during WWII.

Last week Team Wisconsin said farewell to two fantastic NCOs who have made such an impact in the Milwaukee AMEDD recruiting station over the last few years - SSG Luis Rodriguez and SSG Robert Wright. We wish you the best in your next assignments!!

Today the Madison and Milwaukee AMEDD offices came together for a brief march through history to celebrate the Army’s 250th birthday! The team went to the Milwaukee Soldier’s Home, one of the 43 national historic landmarks in Wisconsin. Established in 1867 as a retreat for Civil War soldiers to help them recuperate and transition back to civilian life, the Soldier’s Home is located on the grounds of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. It is one of only 3 still remaining original Soldier’s Homes in the US and offers 100 supportive housing units to veterans who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless.

It is also located right down the road from the Brewer’s stadium!

Happy Friday! Today the Milwaukee AMEDD team took part in some morning PT at a local disc golf course! We love to stay active as well as take advantage of the nice weather and any opportunity to do some team-building! If you ever see us, come say hello!
