Over 300 meals served, thanks to an incredible community of volunteers!

It was a busy day at our Ascension meal site, where more than 300 warm, nutritious meals were served to our Milwaukee neighbors!

We are especially grateful for the abundance of volunteers who showed up ready to lend a hand. From preparing meals to serving our guests, every helping hand makes a difference.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers for sharing your time, energy and compassion. Together, we're doing more than serving meals. We're building community, one plate at a time!

September may be ending, but the action against hunger can’t stop.

The need in Milwaukee is great—and it continues long after Hunger Action Month comes to a close.

That’s the heart of Hunger Action Month: inspiring action that lasts.

Give today. Volunteer today. Take action today.

Every meal served, every hour volunteered and every gift given helps The Gathering continue showing up for our neighbors when they need us most.

September is just the beginning. Together, we can keep the action going.

The Women’s Club of Wisconsin came together to make 150 bag lunches for The Gathering!

Each lunch represents more than a meal—it’s a simple act of care for a Milwaukee neighbor who needs it.

We’re so grateful for the time, generosity, and teamwork that went into preparing these lunches and helping us continue serving our community with dignity and compassion.

Thank you, Women’s Club of Wisconsin, for showing what it looks like when a community comes together to help feed its neighbors!

Start the week with a little kindness.

A warm meal. A few hours volunteered. A gift to help feed a neighbor. A simple reminder that someone cares.

At The Gathering, we see every day what can happen when people choose to show up for one another.

This Monday, remember: you don’t have to change the whole world to make someone’s day a little better.

Start where you are. Give what you can. Serve when you can. 💛

Did you miss the news? We’re still celebrating! 🎉

The Gathering was named 2026 Small Nonprofit of the Year by BizTimes Milwaukee!

What an incredible honor—and one that belongs to our entire Gathering community. Our staff, volunteers, donors and partners show up every day to make sure our Milwaukee neighbors have access to warm, home-cooked meals served with dignity and care.

As the need continues to grow, so does our commitment to serving our community.

We are incredibly proud of this recognition and even more grateful for everyone who makes our mission possible.

Live at the Ivy!

This week, we celebrated a special evening filled with music, connection, and community.

A big thank you to Civic Music MKE for inviting The Gathering to be part of the night and giving us the opportunity to serve, connect, and welcome so many wonderful guests.

We’re grateful for every chance to come together with partners who believe in building a stronger Milwaukee community—one gathering at a time.

BEFORE: A neighbor wonders how they’ll make their groceries last.

BEFORE: A parent quietly skips dinner.

BEFORE: Someone has to decide whether to pay a bill or buy food.

But your support can change what comes next.

AFTER: A warm, home-cooked meal.

AFTER: A welcoming table.

AFTER: A reminder that someone cares.

During Hunger Action Month, help The Gathering be there BEFORE—so more of our Milwaukee neighbors know there is a community ready to welcome them when they need it.

Take action this September. Give today >> https://ow.ly/uUyV50ZMxni

A lot may have changed over the years, but one thing hasn’t: people coming together to prepare meals, serve our neighbors and care for our Milwaukee community.

Here’s to the many kitchen crews who have made The Gathering’s mission possible through the years!
