There is a high swim risk for lakeshore areas north of Wind Point all day and into the evening. Life threatening waves and currents are expected. Stay out of the water and away from dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls.

High Swim Risk for Monday along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Increasing winds overnight out of the southeast will create dangerous swimming conditions along the lake.

Multiple bands of rain are forecast to move through southern WI on Monday. During the afternoon band, pockets of heavy rainfall will be possible that could lead to flash flooding. Can't rule out a brief, weak tornado occurring as well.

A line of storms is projected to move southeast into our area after sunset and into early Saturday. Strongest parts of the line may have gusty winds and hail. With storms projected to move in late tonight, have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Morning showers and a few thunderstorms will dimish for the afternoon. Additional storms are possible this evening into the overnight. These have an isolated severe risk that depends on how much sunshine we see today.

A new Air Quality Advisory is in effect from Noon to 11 PM today, this time for southeast and east-central Wisconsin. Air quality is expected to reach the "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" (orange) level. Some areas along the immediate shoreline could possibly reach the "Unhealthy" (red) level behind the lake breeze.

Poor air quality conditions are expected in southeast Wisconsin today, particularly for sensitive groups. An Air Quality Alert is in effect between 12 PM and 11 PM for southeastern counties. Be sure to take breaks if spending prolonged amounts of time outside.

Don't wait until extreme heat arrives to protect yourself and loved ones.
✅ Build an emergency kit.
✅ Make a plan for power outages.
✅ Become trained in first aid for heat-related emergencies.
✅ Check your A/C and fans are working.

There is a High Swim Risk for the Lake MI beaches tonight into early Thursday afternoon due to dangerous currents from persistent northeast winds and high waves. Stay out of the water!
