Yesterday the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Cadet Post 890 participated in the annual Public Safety Cadet competition! MCSO Cadets had an outstanding performance at the 2026 MPD Competition!

Team 1 brought home: 🥈 2nd Place – Suspicious Person scenario 🥈 2nd Place – Traffic Stop scenario  🥉 3rd Place – Crisis Intervention scenario
🏆 Elite Champion – Best Overall

Team 2 brought home:
🥈2nd place - Active Threat

This the third competition in a row that cadets have earned a first overall award! The team’s hard work, dedication, and teamwork are truly showing and coming together!

We are hosting a MCSO Cadet Post Orientation!
If you are between the ages of 14-20 years old and interested in possibly pursuing a career in law enforcement, we invite you to come join us. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the cadet program, meet current members and explore what it’s like to serve your community.

During the orientation, you’ll:
Learn about the Cadet Program
Meet advisors and current cadets
Ask questions about law enforcement/public safety careers
Find out how to get involved

We look forward to seeing there and helping you take the first step toward a future in law enforcement!

During our meeting this week Sheriff Denita Ball treated cadets to pizza and soda for their accomplishments at their recent State Conference.

In between bites cadets studied and learned the Milwaukee Co. freeway system and major interchanges because it is essential to the job.

Your dedication, leadership, and countless contributions to the post and the residents of Milwaukee County have left a lasting impact. Thank you for your commitment and all that you’ve given to the program and the community.

Over the weekend, our Cadets participated in Annual State Conference and Competition in Wisconsin Dells. Competing against approximately 20 teams from across the state, our Cadets demonstrated exceptional professionalism, teamwork, and skill—bringing home multiple awards.

Awards earned include:

Presidential Award (Best Overall Team)

1st Place – Incident Command

3rd Place – Vehicle Contacts

3rd Place – Force Options (MILO)

In addition, we are proud to announce that Advisor and Mentor Deputy K. Rodriguez was recognized as the 2025 Mentor of the Year.

Both teams performed at a high level, and we could not be more proud of their hard work and dedication. Thank you to for hosting an outstanding conference.

Today MCSO Cadets participated in the Brown County Sheriff’s Office PSC competition. And to say we did good is an understatement! Cadets placed SIX times which is an incredible feat in itself AND won “Top Team” for having the most points out of all the other teams!

Cadets worked extremely hard and prepared tirelessly for this competition and it paid off! Thank you to BCSO for hosting an amazing competition!

This week Cadets got the opportunity to shadow Milwaukee County Dispatchers in preparation for the PSC competition.

Special thanks to for allowing Cadets to get this valuable experience and prepare for our upcoming competition!

MCSO Cadet Post 890 has had a very busy and exciting summer getting into the community. To cap off summer, Cadets participated in the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office’s 2nd annual National Night Out! We spent the night out with members of the community with live music, vendors, and raffle prizes. Kids got to enjoy seeing different demonstrations and vehicles ranging from MCSO all the way to the FBI.

Cadets also participated in the 5th annual 414 TRUST Youth Kickball tournament, where Cadets & Law Enforcement coached, played, and umpired games. Both events were huge a success!
