Meet our 2026 Philanthropic 5!

Congratulations to Marco Briceno, Mallory Deutch, Kat Klawes, Angela Quigley, and Ricardo D. Wynn.

Our Philanthropic Youth is Madeline Peelen.

Each year, United Way's Emerging Leaders recognizes and honors community leaders in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are dedicated to giving, advocating, and volunteering for positive change. We celebrate the contributions of these inspiring individuals through our annual Philanthropic 5 and Philanthropic Youth awards.

The award winners will be recognized at the annual Emerging Leaders Philanthropic 5 Awards community event.

This year's event is on Wednesday, August 5 at the at Prairie Springs on Park.

It is the Briggs & Stratton and United Way Diaper & Wipe Drive.

The first 1,500 patrons who arrive between 12:00 pm-3:00 pm that donate new unopened wipes and diapers with a total minimum value of $10 per person, will receive one free admission ticket to Summerfest.

Milwaukee’s homelessness crisis is growing more visible, but advocates say there are still signs of progress.

Data collected through the Milwaukee Coalition on Housing and Homelessness shows the number of people entering Milwaukee’s homeless service programs is now exceeding those who are exiting.

But Milwaukee has been able to stem family homelessness and make progress in other areas.
