For 50 years, The Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center has helped generations of Milwaukee families connect and thrive. It was a joy to celebrate that legacy together- through art, music, dancing, and community. ✨

One of my favorite moments was supporting some of the youngest vendors at the celebration. Purchasing items from children with businesses of their own was a reminder that the future is in good hands.

Congratulations to Dee McCollum and everyone who has made the King Center the heartbeat of this community!

If the first 50 years were about becoming something strong, the next 50 are about becoming unstoppable! ✊🏾❤️🖤💚

We could not have asked for a better day to celebrate at this year’s Pride Parade! 🏳️‍🌈

The energy was unmatched, the joy was contagious, and the love was everywhere. It was incredible to see so many people showing up as their authentic selves and celebrating what makes our community so special. To everyone who came out, marched, cheered, danced, and celebrated, thank you for making Pride in Milwaukee one of a kind.

What was your favorite moment from this year's parade? Drop it in the comments!

The County Board, at my authorship, passed two important resolutions focused on building healthier, safer, and more resilient communities:

✅The creation of a Milwaukee City-County Joint Task Force to Address the Food Access Crisis; bringing together community leaders, residents, and local government to confront food apartheid and expand access to fresh, healthy food.

✅And a new flood-prevention and climate-resiliency plan to strengthen emergency preparedness and invest in long-term infrastructure before disaster strikes.

🛒What does “food access” look like in your neighborhood?

🌨️What’s one way you think we can better prepare our communities for heavy rain and extreme weather?

One year ago, Milwaukee County’s transit system faced significant uncertainty. Today, we’re seeing encouraging progress! Today’s projected 2026 surplus reflects what’s possible when we stay on track and work together toward solutions.

Last fall, I advanced a nearly $5 million budget amendment that helped restore service cuts and get our system back on a more stable route; keeping a system on the move for the thousands who rely on it every day.

This progress was also made possible through the leadership of County Executive David Crowley, our federal partners, and in collaboration with leaders at Milwaukee County Transit System and MCDOT, as well as our transit workers, advocates, and community members.

I’m grateful to everyone who helped keep this effort moving forward and remain optimistic about the future of public transportation in Milwaukee County!

Happy Pride Month! Today, I joined County Executive David Crowley, Mayor Cavalier Johnson, Alderman Peter Burgelis, our PRISM and HIVE employee resource groups, community advocates, partners, and LGBTQIA+ supporters as we raised the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride Flag in Milwaukee County during our first-ever joint City-County Pride Flag Raising.

Pride Month celebrates courage: the courage of trailblazers like Marsha P. Johnson, the courage of those still finding their voice, and the courage it takes to simply be yourself.

The colors of this flag tell a story of visibility, progress, hope, and love. And when Milwaukee comes together, we prove that our differences don't divide us, they make us stronger.

Here's to leading with joy, choosing community, and making sure everyone knows they belong. 🏳️‍🌈❤️

Being named a Milwaukee Business Journal Women of Influence honoree is deeply meaningful, and I’m receiving this recognition with a full heart and immense gratitude. I’m surrounded every day by people who lead with compassion, conviction, and an unwavering commitment to making our community better. None of this work happens alone.

I think about the mentors who poured into me, the colleagues and community partners who continue to walk alongside me, and the people across Milwaukee County who have placed their trust in me to keep pushing for progress. To be recognized among so many remarkable women who are shaping and strengthening our community is truly an honor.

The privilege of doing this work that I care so deeply about, I do not take for granted. I’m humbled and inspired to keep going.

Two major resolutions I authored will be voted on by the full board today. The legislation, if passed, will develop a task force to address the food access crisis and will create a proactive flood-prevention and climate-resiliency plan. Tune in!

New legislation that passed through the Intergovernmental Committee on Friday will be voted on TODAY by the full board.

Milwaukee County families deserve infrastructure and emergency planning that keeps them safe before disaster strikes. This legislation will create a proactive flood-prevention and climate-resiliency plan focused on coordination, communication, and long-term infrastructure investment across Milwaukee County.
