Earlier this week, the City of Milwaukee Arts Board (MAB) hosted a reception at City Hall to honor the incredible residents shaping our city's culture. These honorees represent the heart and soul of Milwaukee’s creative community.

Huge congratulations to our 2026 award recipients:

Join us on Saturday at noon for the Department of Community Wellness and Safety's Summer Kick-Off at Sherman Park as we launch a season of connection, healing, and community engagement. Come enjoy free food, music, games, and resources while meeting the outreach teams, community organizations, and partners working every day to make Milwaukee safer and stronger.

This is a great opportunity to connect with your neighbors, learn about programs and services available throughout the city, and hear about the important work happening to support youth, families, and community wellness.

Yesterday morning, we kicked off the inaugural Vision Zero Summit with Mayor Cavalier Johnson at the Milwaukee Public Library. Attendees dove into breakout sessions featuring voices from organizations like Wisconsin Bike Fed, State Smart Transportation Initiative, AARP, and more. The Milwaukee Fire Department also completed an extrication demo and showed off life-saving tools used after a vehicle crash. The Moving City art car and reflective patch printing table were also popular with attendees.

From policy and planning to advocacy and community-led solutions, these sessions and demos are designed to spark conversation, share real-world strategies, and give attendees tools to make an impact.

Thanks to all of our partners, supporters, and friends for joining us today and making an impact. Together, we can make safe streets for all!

The City of Milwaukee’s Community Development Grants Administration (CDGA) office is accepting applications for Affordable Rental Housing projects through the HOME American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP). Our goal with this RFP is to expand the availability of quality, affordable rental housing by 50+ units, in order to better serve Milwaukee residents at the greatest need for affordable housing.

The application for Affordable Rental Housing projects is due by 5:00 p.m. CST on Friday, June 12, 2026.
