Embrace lived experience by being a member of the Peer Specialists Limited team that is a non-profit peer led and peer specialist driven agency. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Wraparound Family Engagement and Advocacy Program. The PSL Program Director is required to be a Parent Peer Specialist/Peer Specialist and is responsible for supervising staff, ensuring the program is in full contract compliance, collaborating with Milwaukee County staff, and ensuing quality services are being provided to the people being served through the Family Engagement and Advocacy Program.
Essential Functions:
1. Embraces and role models recovery by embracing the Parent Peer Specialist/Peer Specialist Code of Conduct during all interactions with staff and the people being served by the Family Engagement and Advocacy Program
2. Assist in monitoring all contract and program requirements.
3. Responsible for orientation and training of new staff. This includes on-boarding and training advocacy staff and volunteers that includes but is not limited to, engagement, mental health, and medication, community resources most relevant to families.
4. Works collaboratively with PSL General Manger to ensure all staff and volunteers are being supervised and providing high quality parent peer support services.
5. Develop and provide engagement and advocacy training to the Wraparound Milwaukee provider network quarterly, as well as other trainings based on need.
6. Develop, support, and facilitate a
governance board focused on advocacy to meet the needs of family’s enrolled in Wraparound services.
7. Provides 1:1 supervision weekly to each Parent Peer Specialist/Peer Specialist.
8. Assist in developing community collaborations to support the needs of families being served by the program.
9. Arranges and leads staff meetings.
10. Reviews new referrals with PSL General Manager and completes case assignments to staff.
11. Meets regularly with BHS staff to support collaborative partnership.
12. Completes annual staff evaluations for Parent Peer Specialists/Peer Specialists in a timely manner.
13. Collaborates with staff about individuals being served by the program to ensure individual’s needs are being met by the program.
14. Ensures that all paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
15. Closely monitors staff weekly service hours and bring any concerns to the attention of PSL General Manager.
16. Completes monthly quality assurance surveys and distribute results.
17. Fulfills terms of contract and responds to all issues regarding program service provision.
18. Participates in meetings throughout Milwaukee County (including at BHS) to represent PSL and peer support.
19. Reviews any potential disciplinary actions as outlined in PSL employee policy and procedure manual with PSL General Manager for further action.
20. Responsible for Continuous Quality Improvement Reporting, CRC, and Agency Demographic Report (compiling information to complete the monthly report, appropriate QA of the information and timely submission).
21. May provide direct services based on coverage and program needs.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Attends and participates in PSL meetings
2. Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
Work Relationship and Scope:
Reports to the General Manager. Has contact with a wide variety of individuals including youth/young adults and family members, other program staff, including consulting Psychologist/Psychiatrist, and other collateral contacts, neighbors, funders, Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services, Milwaukee County Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS), Children’s Court officials, MPS staff and administrators, staff of youth serving agencies and the public.
Minimal Qualifications:
The PSL Program Director is required to be a Parent Peer Specialist or a Peer Specialist with a minimum of two years of experience providing peer support services. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Criminal justice preferred; two years supervisory experience preferred; no convictions or license revocations that would not allow to serve people based on Milwaukee County standards; valid driver’s license, automobile and sufficient insurance to meet agency requirements. Complete all Wraparound trainings as required for the position.
