TEMPO Milwaukee TEMPO's mission is to further the impact of women leaders in our community.

TEMPO is the largest professional women's group in Wisconsin, composed of nearly 800 members representing diverse industries, functions and companies from throughout the Milwaukee area and Southeastern Wisconsin. TEMPO serves its membership of executive, senior, C-level and Emerging Women Leaders through educational programming and professional development, networking opportunities, relationship building, and mentoring, with the goal of empowering women to achieve and sustain leadership roles.

What does ambition look like for women leaders today — and what barriers still stand in the way of advancement?

Join us for TEMPO's June Program Meeting on Thursday, June 25 as we convene members, corporate leaders, and male allies for an important conversation inspired by McKinsey & Company’s 2025 Women in the Workplace research and insights from TEMPO's Voices of Women at Work: The Milwaukee Experience study that focused on the experiences of women in metro Milwaukee.

Together, we’ll explore how burnout, flexibility, sponsorship, workplace culture, and advancement pathways are shaping women’s leadership trajectories — and what organizations can do to better retain and support women leaders.

Yesterday’s TEMPO Program Meeting sparked an important and powerful conversation around perimenopause and menopause in the workplace and beyond.

Thank you to our incredible panelists, Dr. Alyson Lippman, Dr. Francesca Lynd, and Brook Mayborne, along with moderator Deanne Phillips, for leading such an honest, informed, and empowering discussion.
Together, they challenged misconceptions, shared practical insights, and explored the very real ways this stage of life intersects with leadership, career growth, well-being, and workplace culture. From medical expertise to HR strategies and lived experience, the conversation highlighted why creating supportive and informed environments for women leaders matters.

Some of the key takeaways that resonated throughout the conversation:
• Menopause is not a personal failure — it’s biology.
• The menopause transition can be a powerful window of opportunity for women to better understand and advocate for their health and well-being.
• You don’t need to bash yourself in order to advocate for yourself in the workplace.
