Great work, guys!!

Part of being a libertarian is our belief in volunteerism… Tonight we took action in that belief and completed our first highway cleanup of the year. A beautiful clear night, comfortable temps, and plenty of bug spray (no ticks for us thank you very much) allowed us to gather 5 bags of trash.

Thank you to our friends from Fox Valley Libertarians for the equipment use and thank you to Phillip Anderson, Manda Marie, and Jordan Andrew for your support!

My name is Dalton LaPorte, and I’m gathering signatures so I can run for Wisconsin Secretary of State.

I’m a Wisconsinite, veteran, student, and a libertarian who believes government should work for the people—not against them.

Like many Americans, I’m tired of division, political theater, and a system that feels disconnected from everyday people. We deserve transparent, accountable government that is efficient, accessible, and focused on serving the public.

I may be young, but I understand many of the issues people in my generation and across Wisconsin care deeply about: transparency, affordability, civil liberties, and a government people can actually trust.

This campaign is about bringing people together—not tearing them apart.

Wisconsin deserves leadership that listens.

Amazing news for the community!

📢‼️ Breaking News: Street Angels & Kohler Partner to Bring Second Shower Trailer to SE WI

A young couple arrived at Showers of Hope with their infant daughter in their arms and everything they owned piled into their vehicle that they were currently calling home. They were seeking out a simple hot shower, but little did they know that this simple shower would lead them toward a pathway to stability. 🚿💙

They were met with more than just hygiene services. They were met with dignity, compassion, and a team that refused to let them navigate the system alone. After receiving a shower, clean clothing, and a meal, Street Angels continued advocating on their behalf. Six days later, shelter placement became available and the family was able to end their unsheltered homelessness.

What began as an attempt to meet a basic need became a turning point. This is the impact of Showers of Hope, creating trusted connections, restoring dignity, and opening doors to stability. Expanding this program means more moments like this throughout Southeastern WI, where something as simple as a shower becomes the first step toward changing lives.

👉A second Showers of Hope trailer will make its debut any day now and it will be operated by our partners at the Sheboygan County Warming Center until May 2027. The trailer will then be available to expand into additional counties in Southeastern WI. Stay tuned for exciting updates and pictures real soon.

Monday's meeting was a great success!

Here's what you may have missed:

1. Workshops were a HIT! Now only did we get to engage with our community we were able to draw people in to join us at Libertarian Party of Wisconsin convention where we were privileged to welcome and engage with one of the most influential libertartians of our time, Scott Horton.💪

2. Libertarian Party of Wisconsin convention was productive and FUN! As previously mentioned, Scott Horton joined us Friday night. No only was his presentation was well educated, honest, and real, but he's a great guy to chill around a fire with! Thank you so much for joining us Scott! Saturday business passed over 20 platform planks! Way to go platform committee, you guys rock! OH! AAAAAAANNNND did you know that canned whip cream stains concrete? Shout out to Aaron Kammer for the heads up and to Phillip Anderson for being our first ever "Pie Throwing" Fundraiser volunteer. And YES! There are videos.😂🥧

3. There are several independent candidates running for offices across the state this year. If you wish to help sign, gather signatures, or contribute to a candidate PLEASE reach out to us HERE or email us at [email protected]. PLEASE tag any candidates you know if in the COMMENTS, we'd love to help spread the word. 📣

4. The libertarians will once again be hosting a booth at the Waupaca County Fair! We would LOVE to have other affiliates join us for tabling. The Waupaca County Fair receives visitors from all over the state, this would be a wonderful opportunity for affiliates (new and old) to connect with potential members. Libertarian Party of Central Badgerland, Fox Valley Libertarians, Capitol Area Libertarian Party, Milwaukee Libertarians, Libertarian Party of Southeast Wisconsin. 🎡

5. A motion was presented to change the name of our organization from Waupaca County Libertarians to Waupaca Area Libertarians. Our membership is NOT dependent on county residence, therefore we were looking to acknowledge our current members and encourage membership from those in surrounding counties. This motion is tabled until our next affiliate meeting (07/07/26) where it will be voted upon by the membership.💛

6. As libertarians we believe in the power of community! Our next highway clean us is scheduled for June 1, 2026 at 5:30 PM on the corner of WI state hwy 161 and Rosholt road (just on the border of Waupaca and Portage counties. Please see our events for details or reach out with any questions.🛣️
