Halfway through Detachment and the team is absolutely crushing it!

Our instructors, students, and support personnel have been working hard to keep the schedule moving and the standards high — and it’s paying off.

A huge congratulations to our student aviators who successfully completed their solo flights during this det. Earning your solo is a major milestone and a testament to the preparation, discipline, and confidence you’ve built. Well done.

We’re proud of the momentum, the teamwork, and the professionalism on display every day. On to the second half — let’s keep it rolling. Birds Up!

Dear Doerbird Family, Friends, and Shipmates,

Tomorrow, VT-2 will conduct a Change of Command at the National Naval Aviation Museum, where command will pass to CDR Jason Hathaway, USCG. Change of Command is a time-honored tradition ensuring seamless continuity and offers a chance to showcase the squadron’s professionalism and esprit de corps - the Doerbirds are poised to demonstrate both in abundance.

Over the past 16 months, our wardroom of Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, and partner-nation Instructor Pilots rose to the challenge each day to ensure Doerbird students - and by extension the Naval Aviation Enterprise - received world-class instruction, training, and mentorship. What instructors, students, and staff accomplished together is remarkable, a testament to a Doerbird spirit rooted in heritage and strengthened by legacy.

Sustaining a culture of excellence has not been without challenges, yet innovation, collaboration, and teamwork prevailed. These qualities inspire instructors and students alike to surpass expectations and deliver exceptional results. The Doerbird future is bright.

Thanks to families, alumni, supporters, and fans whose unwavering encouragement fuels success - you remain the secret sauce.
