It's Halloween Week! Before the candy collecting begins, let's talk costumes.

Whether your child is dressing up as a princess, superhero, dinosaur, or whatever they finally settle on after changing their mind six times, we love to see the creativity!

But before everyone heads out the door, a few things are worth checking:

✅ Can they see? Masks, hats, and wigs shouldn't block their vision.

✅ Can they move? Make sure costumes aren't dragging on the ground, and shoes are comfortable enough to walk in.

✅ Can others see them? Reflective tape, glow sticks, or a small flashlight can help make little trick-or-treaters more visible after dark.

✅ Do they know the plan? Younger children should ALWAYS have an adult with them. Make sure you and your older kids have the same information! Know where they're going, who they're with, and when to come home.

And maybe give that costume a test run before Halloween night. It's better to find out your little dinosaur can't climb stairs at home.

Have fun, be safe, look after each other, and enjoy every minute of the Halloween magic!

We had some pretty great company recently!

Some of our officers enjoyed spending time with a local Daisy troop, answering questions, sharing a little about what we do and getting to know some of the young faces in our community.

We always appreciate the chance to connect with our youngest residents, especially when they bring plenty of smiles and curiosity!

Thanks for hanging out with us, girls! We enjoyed the visit!

Good conversations and strong partnerships make a difference in public safety.

Chief Jason Griffin joined fellow North Fulton police chiefs today in Alpharetta for their monthly meeting to discuss shared challenges, exchange ideas and strengthen cooperation among our agencies.

We appreciate Alpharetta PD for hosting and our neighboring departments for their continued partnership. Different communities, but a shared commitment to keeping the people we serve safe.

Stronger Together: North Fulton Police Chiefs Collaborate for Safer Communities

Today, the Alpharetta Police Department had the privilege of hosting the monthly North Fulton Chiefs of Police Meeting, bringing together law enforcement leaders from across North Fulton County, Georgia.

These meetings provide an important opportunity for police executives to strengthen regional partnerships, share information, discuss emerging public safety challenges, and collaborate on strategies that enhance crime prevention, community engagement, and the safety of those we serve.

We were pleased to bring together leadership from the following agencies:

Alpharetta Police Department – Chief Trent Lindgren

Roswell Police Department – Chief James Conroy

Milton Police Department – Chief Jason Griffin

Johns Creek Police Department – Chief Mark Mitchell

Sandy Springs Police Department – Chief Kenneth DeSimone (not pictured)

Some of the most important people in a school day are the ones who get it started!

Officer Ma, one of our SLOs was happy to join the CCES PTO in showing some well-deserved appreciation for the bus drivers who get students to and from school safely each day!

Early mornings, busy roads and a whole lot of responsibility come with the job. These drivers handle it all while looking out for some pretty precious cargo!

A big thank-you to the CCES PTO for recognizing these hardworking drivers and including us in the celebration.

We appreciate all you do to keep Milton's students safe!

It's Friday, Milton! Let's hear it for the little things.

Holding the door for someone. Letting another driver merge. Checking on a neighbor. Or simply giving someone a reason to smile.

Small gestures, sure, but they're part of what makes Milton such a great place to call home.

And if you happen to inspire someone to return their shopping cart instead of leaving it in the parking lot, well played!

Three officers. One friendly reminder. And a whole lot of food trucks!

Crabapple is the place to be tonight! Wanderlust Food Truck Fest Crabapple is bringing the food, fun, and a little extra activity to Crabapple Market and Market District Crabapple.

The weather is fantastic and we're all for a good time (and good food), but with more people out enjoying the evening, let's keep an extra eye out for pedestrians, take it slow, and have a little patience navigating the area.

TRAFFIC UPDATE 4:00 PM: Landrum Road

Landrum Road remains closed between 960 and 975 as crews continue working in the area.

Residents living west of 975 Landrum Road must use Birmingham Highway to enter and exit the area. Access remains restricted to local traffic only.

Work is still in progress. We appreciate your patience and will provide additional updates as information becomes available.

Downed wires on Landrum Road between 960 and 970 Landrum Road have prompted a temporary change in traffic access.

The barriers at Birmingham Highway have been temporarily removed to allow residents to access their homes. Landrum Road remains open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY. Please do not use this route for through traffic.

Milton Public Works has responded to the scene, and the power company has been notified.

Please use caution in the area and stay clear of any downed wires. We will provide updates as they become available.

A friendly Tuesday reminder: The road is one place where nobody wins points for multitasking.

Whether you're behind the wheel or crossing the street, a little attention goes a long way.

Drivers, slow down, put the phone away and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.

Pedestrians, look up, make eye contact with drivers and make sure it's safe before crossing.

The goal? Everyone gets where they're going safely, with no unexpected introductions!
