An announcement from The Milton Library Trustees and Milton Library Foundation:

We are excited to announce that The Foundation has purchased the house at 488 Canton Avenue, AKA the ‘Yellow House’. The Foundation will lease the property to the Library Trustees to be used for Library services.

The Yellow House represents the future of Library expansion: expanded programs and events, expanded study spaces and meeting rooms, expanded services for the residents of Milton.

Over the next year, we will work on creating a strategic plan for use of the house, including community input to help shape how the space can elevate Library services during the next 10 years and beyond.

Before the Milton Public Schools had a robust website covering all of the details parents and students need to know, the district published annual booklets like the one featured here: "Education for Tomorrow" from the 1966-1967 school year. This booklet included policies for all schools in the district and served as a handy reference for families.

The library has several of these booklets in our collection and they shed light on the evolution of schools and education in town. If you would like to learn more, please stop by the Reference Desk on the second floor.
