🚨FIREFIGHTERS QUICK RESPONSE SAVES RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE🚨

On Thursday the 27th at approximately 10:28 AM, Station 22 was dispatched to a residential fire investigation. Arriving on scene to a two-story residential structure, firefighters entered the residence, and noticed a haze of smoke on the first floor of the residence. Station 23 was immediately called for manpower. Using our Thermal Imaging Camera’s, firefighters located an extreme amount of heat in the living room ceiling, just below the master bathroom. Crews pulled ceiling and found an active fire, close to a gas line, between the first floor ceiling and the second floor bathroom. Gas and Power utilities were shut off, and the fire was extinguished. Cause of the fire was believed to be due to a lightning strike in the residence. No injuries occurred to residents or firefighters during operations. Due to the quick work and readiness of crews on scene, the fire was quickly extinguished, and the structure was saved.

During the fire, we received another call for a Vehicle Fire at a gas station near our Station 1. Due to the majority of manpower being at the structure fire, units from Station 11 assisted several personnel from Station 22 in extinguishing the vehicle. No injuries occurred to civilians or firefighters during the fire. Cause of the fire is believed to have been from an electrical issue with the vehicle.

🚨Yesterday, at approximately 5:02 P.M. Stations 22, 12, 24, 11, 13, and Cert/Air 22 responded to a residential structure fire, in Station 21’s district. At the time, Station 21 units were tied up on a commercial structure fire in their district just a couple blocks away. Station 12 arrived on scene to smoke showing from the roof, and began fire attack. Station 22 units arrived on scene and assisted with fire attack from the attic. Station 24 assisted with venting the roof, while units 11 and 13 began interior fire attack and search operations. The fire was brought under control shortly after initial fire attack, and overhaul was conducted on the structure. Cause of the fire is believed to have been a lightning strike. Quick work by all on scene saved the structure and the residents belongings.

A huge thank you to our CERT Team for keeping our firefighters aired up and hydrated during the fire!

Today, Skyline Fire Rescue had the honor of assisting in the es**rt of James Sellers from Panama City to Pensacola.

James was a valued part of our community, and his passing leaves a tremendous void. We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside his family and friends as we remember and honor his life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sellers family during this difficult time. James will be missed very much, But never forgotten.

Rest easy, James. ❤️🙏

A busy B-shift!

🚨Friday 8/14 At approximately 7:49 PM Stations 22, 23, and 21 responded to a residential structure fire in Station 23’s district. Station 22 dropped a supply line and assisted with primary search, while 23 made the fire attack and 21 assisted with RIT. During search operations, two cats and a lizard were located, but were pronounced deceased on scene due to smoke inhalation. Cert 20/Air 22 was also called for rehab. Cause of the fire was believed to have started in the kitchen, but is still under investigation.

🚨Saturday 8/15 At approximately 4:54 PM Stations 22, 23, 24, 11 and Cert 20/Air 22 responded to a structure fire in Station 22’s district. Firefighters made a quick attack on the fire, which originated in the garage due to a lightning strike. Engine 24 assisted with venting the garage roof to assist interior firefighters. During search operations, two cats were rescued from the structure. Due to the quick work of all firefighters, the fire was contained to a small portion of the garage and kitchen.

🚨Additionally, at 3:11 AM, Station 22 responded to an MVA on Hwy 87 N. Vehicle left the roadway and was located approximately 20 yards inside the woods. Fortunately, the driver received no injuries.

These are 3 of several other calls that were ran on B-shift, and as always, your firefighters responded with professionalism to each one. We’re proud to serve the Skyline Fire District everyday! Get some rest B-shift, you earned it!

🚨📚 BACK TO SCHOOL — SLOW DOWN & STAY ALERT! 🚌

It’s Back to School Week, and Skyline Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone to use extra caution on the roads as students head back to school.

As you’re traveling to and from work, especially during the early morning and afternoon hours, please be on the lookout for:

🚌 School buses stopping and starting
🚸 Children getting on and off buses
⚠️ Buses with their stop signs and warning lights activated
👀 Children crossing roadways and entering residential areas

When a school bus activates its flashing lights and stop sign, please STOP and obey all applicable traffic laws. Never attempt to pass a stopped school bus when its stop signals are activated.

A few extra seconds of patience could prevent a tragedy. Our children’s safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Slow down. Pay attention. Follow the law. Help us keep our kids safe.

🇺🇸 Congratulations, Christopher Summers! 🇺🇸

Skyline Fire Rescue would like to congratulate our volunteer firefighter, Christopher Summers, on successfully completing U.S. Army Basic Training!

We are proud of Christopher’s dedication to serving both his country and his community. He is now continuing his military journey by attending Air Assault School, where he will further develop his skills and leadership.

Congratulations, Christopher! We wish you the best of luck as you continue your training, and we look forward to having you back with the Skyline Fire Rescue family.
