Recently, the Milton Police Department became aware of a possible stolen vehicle entering the Town of Milton.

Sergeant Bedel observed the vehicle and was able to confirm the vehicle was stolen out of Fayette County. An attempt was made to stop the vehicle near Harris Road and State Road 1, at which point the driver fled, reaching speeds just over 100 mph.

The vehicle ultimately drove through a field, crashed into a wooded area, and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect was taken into custody a short time later by law enforcement.

The suspect was identified as a juvenile. It was later reported that the vehicle had been taken from the juvenile’s parents. The juvenile was arrested for offenses related to this incident.

We would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance and support during this incident:

• Wayne County Sheriff’s Office
• Cambridge City Police Department
• Hagerstown Police Department

As always, we appreciate the continued cooperation between agencies and remain committed to keeping our community safe!

Arrests and criminal charges are mere accusations. Every person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏

The Milton Police Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Wayne County Commissioners and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for donating a used Dodge Durango to our department.

This vehicle will replace one of our older, high mileage units and will be immediately placed into service for the Town of Milton and Pershing. The Sheriff’s Office also left the existing emergency lights, siren, and equipment installed, saving our town a significant amount of money and allowing us to put this vehicle on the road without delay.

Support like this makes a real difference for small departments, and we are grateful for the continued cooperation and teamwork among agencies in Wayne County. Working together ensures we can continue to serve our community safely and responsibly.

The Wayne County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force recently received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That tip was immediately investigated and led to search warrants being obtained for two separate residences located in Randolph County.

Those search warrants were executed through a coordinated effort involving the Wayne County ICAC Task Force, Connersville/Fayette County ICAC Task Force, Wi******er Police Department, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department K-9 Unit, Indiana State Police, and the Department of Homeland Security.

As a result of this investigation, Julian Sulek was arrested on two counts of possession and dissemination of child po*******hy, a level 4 felony.

This case is a reminder that protecting children does not stop at county lines. Our task force is proactive, relentless, and committed to following every lead wherever it goes to keep children safe from exploitation.

If you have information or suspect online exploitation of a child, you can report tips directly to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at https://report.cybertip.org

Arrests and criminal charges are mere accusations. Every person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
