Over the past week our shelter has experienced a huge influx of unclaimed stray dogs, which has put our dog kennels at full capacity. We urgently need dogs to be adopted from our shelter as soon as possible; if you are thinking about adopting a dog, please visit our shelter when we open on Tuesday morning to meet our pups and give them a chance of finding a loving home.

Our shelter is located near the South Hill Mall in Puyallup, on 39th Avenue between the Lowes hardware store and the Pierce College campus. If you are interested in adopting any of these dogs please email us at [email protected] so our team can answer any questions about their size, breed, personality, etc.

We need your help to find a home for this very sweet dog!

One month ago, Cyra came into our shelter as a stray dog after being found along Valley Avenue in the City of Puyallup. She was emaciated and in need of loving care. She quickly made incredible improvements thanks to a steady diet, a few good bubble baths, and a ton of snuggles with our volunteers.

We are thrilled to update that she is now a very happy, healthy, and all around awesome dog that is ready to be adopted. Cyra is the perfect middle-sized dog, doesn't jump and rarely barks, and is very gentle in taking toys and treats out of your hand. We are guessing that she is approximately 3 years old.

She is playful with toys but not a shredder, gets along great with other dogs, and is very friendly to all people. We aren't supposed to have favorites around the shelter, but she is definitely our top pup and we know that she is going to make someone very very happy.

Please help sweet Cyra find a home for Christmas by sharing and posting her information. We know that her forever home is just one share away!

Cedar needs your help! This very sweet and mellow boy has a sad story, and we are hoping one of you can help us make a Christmas miracle for him.

Earlier this fall, Cedar's owner was tragically killed in a car crash. The victim's family is unable to care for Cedar, and they reached out to our shelter for help after not being able to find someone to take him. He is a certified couch potato with a big heart, and we are really hoping that an amazing person will step forward to welcome him into their home.

The victim's family and our partners at Friends at your Metro Animal Shelter are teaming up to cover the adoption fee for Cedar, and our shelter staff will be accepting applications and interviewing any potential adopters to ensure that Cedar finds the perfect loving match that he deserves.

Here is how you can help our buddy Cedar... share this post and tag anyone who you think could be a hero for him. All it takes is the just one right person seeing Cedar's info and opening their heart for him. And you could be the one to make that match!

According to a recent poll of our shelter dogs, here are the top 5 reasons why you should buy a pet license:
#1 - “It makes me look cool"
#2 - “It helps animal control officer know where my family lives if I get lost"
#3 - “I like that jingly noise it makes when I do my zoomies"
#4 - “It helps provide animal control officers to rescue me if I'm hurt or lost"
#5 - “It helps to provide for a safe place for lost pets to stay until they are reunited with their families"

And these pups are right - it significantly helps us to protect your pet and looks super cool! Not only is a pet license required in the municipal codes of the 7 cities we serve, it is also the right thing to do. By purchasing and renewing your pet licenses for a small fee, you are helping to provide animal control and sheltering services for your community. And you can do it online, so it's quick and east!

*PET OF THE WEEK - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION*
Are you looking to add an amazing, marvelous, "stellar" member to your family? Yes?!?! Then adopt me, I'm Stellar!

I was brought the shelter a couple of weeks ago by a nice guy that found me along Valley Highway right at the border of Edgewood and Sumner. The shelter tried to find my family, but they never came to pick me up. Bummer.

But that means now I can be adopted to a new family that is just as stellar as me. And here is what makes me so awesome... I'm super playful, I love other dogs, and I am soooo handsome.

I am available for adoption at the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup, which is located a skip and a jump off Meridian Ave. by the South Hill Mall.

Come visit me anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday -- you will love me to the stars and beyond!

*PET OF THE WEEK - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION*

My name is Bella Marie, and I am so happy to be the shelter’s featured “Pet of the Week,” so hopefully someone will see this and absolutely fall in love with me.

All of the shelter staff tell me that I am the very best-behaved dog at the shelter, and that I’m their very favorite (shhhhhh, don’t tell the other pups in here!). I am so good with kids, that when we have little visitors at the shelter I get to be the one to play with them… and I am so good with dogs, that when a new dog comes into the shelter and needs to be behavior tested, I get that job every time. Yep, I’m pretty awesome.

I came into the shelter a couple of weeks ago, after my owner was struggling with homelessness. He loved me very much and wanted the best for me, so he asked for help to find me a safe and loving home. And while I am loved very much here at the shelter, it is time for me to find a real home where I can live my best life.

So if you are that special someone who has a place in your heart and in your home for this special lady, please contact the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup to learn more about the adoption process. Or if you know someone who might be that person, please share this to your page and Bella Marie find a forever family!
